Zach is back. Life has been good since they dispatched a rabid, alpha wolf, tricked into dark power.

His hoard is growing steadily, with odd jobs working as Morgana’s partner, and they’ve been hired to deal with the swamp troll migration, as the trolls pass through Philly on their way to Florida for the winter.

As if he doesn’t have enough to deal with, the Order of the Magi come to town for a convention, and tensions grow taut between magi and the paranormal council.

When trolls become overly aggressive, and they find a magus skinwalker behind it, Zach can’t stand by. Someone has to answer to an angry dragon for attacking his new mate. Politics between the two groups be damned.

I’m really enjoying the series. Jack and Jessica did an excellent job on narrating/describing landscape, battles et cetera. Find it amazing how quickly the main character Zach has developed. I teared up a little bit during the sweet moment after the final battle.

A sweet moment after the final battle

a great sequel - this one really expanded on the world setup in the first book and helped build out those relationships tentatively broached so far..
the narrators did a fantastic job bringing the characters to life and giving them each a unique sound and identity.

there was almost too much going on and i found myself wanting to yell at the characters- in a good way.

it ends on one hell of a cliffhanger - i now cant wait for the next one!

what a cliffhanger!
