I never intended to bond with a dragon.

I definitely didn't intend to become his wife. Now I must wed the Crown Prince, a man who is as cruel as he is handsome.

Yet, as soon as my dragon and I are presented to the king and queen, we are rejected. My dragon is not big enough, not good enough, and neither am I.

I read this book when it first came out and so was really pleased to listen to it. Thoroughly enjoyed it again.
Took me a bit to get used to the actress - mostly because I’m used to Sam Hall audio being Aussie and this is very stereotypical English. Good range of voices though which only very occasionally drop.
Well worth the credit.

Good story telling and really well narrated, except the male voices tended to to sound comedic, rather than hot/broody/strong etc, but that’s just a problem with women reading male parts, no matter how good a narrator they are, and she is good.
It made the hot bits definitely not hot, but also if anyone talked to me like that, I’d be like the Sahara desert lol. That’s the reasons for knocking stars off.

I liked the voice of the narrator and Pippa is an interesting character. I like how she's not described as a typical FMC, her being tall and a shaved head definitely makes a change. I also like her character development.
The only thing I could say I'm not keen on is lengthy internal dialogue.
