Summary

Crashed spaceship. Prison planet. Snarling, lethal predators. Two big, hulking, bronzed aliens who turn into dragons. The best part? The dragons insist I’m their mate.

The Zorahn wanted women for some kind of super-secret science experiment, and I volunteered. Dumb move, right? But they promised we’d be safe, and they offered a lot of money. Money I needed desperately.

Of course, everything went wrong.

Our spaceship has crashed on a prison planet, one where the Zorahn exile their most dangerous criminals. My friends are injured. I’m all alone on a jungle planet where everything is designed to kill me.

Then I run into the Draekons. When they see me, they change into dragons and burn the predators threatening me to a crisp. They feed me and care for me, and they keep me safe.

But there’s a catch. The Draekons insist that I’m their mate. And the only way they can shift into dragons again to save my friends? Both of them need to mate with me. At the same time.

This isn't the space vacation I thought it would be.

Draekon Mate is the first book in the new Dragons in Exile series. It’s a full-length, standalone science fiction dragon-shifter MFM menage romance story featuring a snarky human female, and two arrogant aliens that keep her warm, with or without dragon fire. (No M/M) Happily-ever-after guaranteed!

Not what you think at first glance.

I was hesitant to get this book at glance but in the end I really enjoyed it. Yes there are a number of sexy moments and thoughts through out the book but the characters are really well put together. I have gone on to get the next one in the series as well. The plot the is interwoven between the romance is very well put together. It is part of what makes me want to find out what happens next and not just to find out who the next love match is. I have to rate the performance at a 4 star rather than a 5 as Misty Dawn's performance seemed quite rushed and robotic to me. As I have gone on to listen to the next book her voice has grown on me and I have got used to it. Overall though it is a good performance. Spoiler: the plot line thickens a lot in the next book and makes it worth listening to to find out what happens and more details on why the xile occurred in the first place.

Good concept

I enjoyed this shifter book and think has a good base, the female characters are interesting although sometimes a little too willing to give it up so quickly... overall worth a read, especially if you are look for and easy read, I am going to read the next one as it has peaked my interest. last down side is the female narrator, she a little robotic but let's she how she does on the next one

Has it all

This story has it all. Hot, steamy scenes, intrigue, suspense, action and some humor. The characters are strong and great. Didn't want to put it down for anything. Unique story line. I can't wait to get to the next book in this exciting new series! The narrators did an amazing job.

Viola, Arax and Nyx!

After the death of her father Viola is not only grieving his loss but trying to find a way to pay his outstanding medical bills which have now become her responsibility when an opportunity presents itself which could be the answer to both problems. She and nine other women will journey to Zorahn for six months and return to earth a much smarter and richer woman, what could possibly go wrong? When their ship is taken over and re-routed to a prison planet the woman find themselves stranded with no way out. The planet is inhabited by men who have been exiled due to their ability to shift from men to dragons once they have bonded with their mates however there were no women on this planet until Viola’s shuttle crashed. Viola’s attempts to help the injured parties in her group result in her being rescued by Arax and Nyx. From the moment that Arax and Nyx see Viola they know she is their mate and now they just need to convince her. This is an intriguing start to a new series and I look forward to Harper’s story next. I received a complimentary copy of the audiobook and thought the narrators did a great job of bringing the story to life.

Wooowwww

This book needs to come with a warning label to listen in Antartica to save your device. It is steamy but more than that it’s also got an amazingly compelling storyline. It’s interesting and keeps you guessing until the very end. Can’t wait to jump into the next book. The narrators were next level each character felt like they were right there with me a solid 5 star performance for authors and narrators alike

Not sure I will follow this story

This story was good but I am not sure it is good enough for me to purchase other books in the series. The narrators were OK.

Sexy Dragon Shifter MFM Romance

This was a enjoyable read and a very solid start to this series. An interesting storyline, complex characters and a heavy dose of steam are brought together to create a engaging, swoon worthy paranormal romance. This book captures your attention easily and quickly and it will leave you eager to read so much more about the Draekon's, their mates and the world they inhabit. Arax, Viola and Nyx were likable and I felt easy to connect with. I felt that these three made a great triad. They each brought their own unique characteristics and emotional baggage into the relationship. This created a nice balance to the group. The storyline is filled with action, drama, sizzling steam, humor, strong emotions, adventure, excitement, suspense, sweetness and romance. The narrators did an excellent job and I loved that each of the three main characters had their "own voice". For me, this is an extra added perk that makes a great read even better.

Not Great

So, I always like to acknowledge that a person actually wrote a book. That in itself is magnificent however this story is not a great work. I listen/read a lot of paranormal romances and the arthor has nailed the imagination part of writing but the execution leaves the audience wanting. The writing is very Juvenile and unpolished. This would have been a really good first draft, but it needed to be edited and gone over many more times before it was actually published. It is so choppy and the main Characters are always announcing what the reader should understand by the moment of the story. An example of this is when instead of writing actual Dialogue between the characters the writer just has one of them announced what the characters should have known all along or how they feel to move the story on. The sex theme are just as bad. The seem to just pop up with no natural progression as if it was some kind of porno, like oh we are in a bathroom, and you are naked in the bathroom, thus we will have sex now. There is not a lot of emotion between the Scenes either other than one of the characters pronouncing how they feel out of nowhere. The writing makes me cringe when I really wanted to like the story. I may try the second book just so I can see if the writing has advanced, but I do not have a lot of faith in this author.

Fun Listening

This was a good story to listen to. It is about Viola who crash landed on a prison planet and mated to two Dragon shifters called Nyx and Arax. They had quite a bit to overcome to make things work and deal with what life was throwing at them .It had a good storyline and was a smooth listen. the narraters did a very good job on this and made it an enjoyable time. Looking forward to listening to the next book in this series.

Wow

I'm totally new to this type of romance novel. My only complaint is that each novel is so darn short. I enjoy the narrators - especially Misty Dawn. Laughed so hard several times. If you can get over the ridiculousness of the whole thing, it is a great five hours to pass the time. Very steamy.

Great Story!

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review. Good start of the Dragons in Exile series. Great chemistry between Viola, Arax and Nyx. Love the different narrators for each of the main characters. I cant wait to read/listen to the rest of the series to see what happens with the Draekons and each triad couple.

Cute dragon love

The story idea is quite intriguing and can be complex if the world-building is extended further. There was some fun humor and interesting descriptions of everything. I was a little confused at some details towards the end of the book, though: 1) I heard a mention of "Draken" instead of "Draekon." 2) Abrupt, random near-abduction by primitive Draekon. It was there and then suddenly gone. Just like Arax and Nix's sudden transformation upon hearing Viola's cry. So it seems like the men can only transform if she's in trouble before their bond is complete...? 3) Arax and Nix tell Viola not to tell the other women that they won't be able to return to Earth yet, but Viola doesn't say that they already know about it. 4) In my opinion, the epilogue and preview could have been combined, but I know that epilogues don't necessarily have to be about the main characters. However, in the preview, Vulrox and Denox transformed into Draekon upon seeing their mate before she was killed, but when they see Harper, they don't transform. Aren't these men supposed to transform upon seeing their mate? Maybe that will be explained in the next book. I like the overall story, but it doesn't compel me to read the next book. I believe the next book and the next ones after that would go into more detail about the exiled group and backgrounds of the Draekon, which would be great to read/listen to. I'm just not interested right now. The narrators did a good job and I applaud them. They all spoke clearly and didn't over-enunciate. There were times when I didn't know if Jasper Woodcock or Ry Forest were speaking. It just seemed like one person with different tones to distinguish Arax and Nix. That was on me for not really paying attention LOL I am kind of iffy on Misty Dawn because she sounded fake or over-done when Viola cries out for help or exclaims over something. Her voice reminds me of Andi Arndt a little bit, so that's why I like her regardless.

Sexy Ménage

Lee Savino and Lili Zander have created a rich and unique world of dragon shifting men who mate with their human women in triad relationships. The backdrop of carving out a new life on a planet fraught with deadly plants and animals while navigating relationships, coping with the knowledge that they will never return to earth, and the confusing political agendas draws you into a story that is hard to put down. All of this and sexy menage scenes make a winning combination and a great story. The narration by two men and a woman add a richness to the story that can only be topped by an actual movie!
