Summary

A step-by-step guide to enjoying the roller-coaster ride of growth -- while getting the most out of life as an entrepreneur. A growth-focused approach: The book is divided into three sections, which cover planning for fast growth, building a company for fast growth, and leading for fast growth. Each topic the author covers -- from creating a vision for the company's future to learning how to generate free PR for a developing company -- is squarely focused on the end goal: doubling the size of the entrepreneur's company in three years or less. A down-to-earth action plan: Herold's experienced-based advice never gets bogged down in generalities or theory. Instead, he offers a wealth of practical tips, including: How to design meetings for maximum efficiency; How to hire top-quality talent; How to grow in particularly tough markets; How to put together a board of advisors -- even for a smaller company; How even the busy entrepreneur can achieve a work/life balance.

Really awful automated speech

I love audio books so opted for the audio version of this book - error!

I have only been listening for just over 4 minutes but I can't bare to listen to it anymore. The book is being narrated by an automated speech programme and it is truly awful.

I have bought lots of audio books in the past most of them read by the author. On the whole this adds value and a much more personal experience for the person buying the book but in this instance it has detracted so much from my experience of this book, which is a real shame.

I can't comment on the content of the book (I understand from other users that it is very good) as I have not got beyond the introduction but on the format alone I would recommend that you don't buy this - stick to the printed version.

Enjoyable, informative and actionable!

What did you love best about Double Double?

The fact the author gave real life situations AND solutions. I have read a lot of books that give a generic or such a general response that they don't really help those in need. This book was great all the way through and gave details on how to resolve certain issues and some useful tools, of which, I now use one called Teamly on a daily basis and it has elevated my game at work.

What other book might you compare Double Double to and why?

Rockefeller Habits or any of the Lencioni books because they all provide the story and the action items.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes it was.

Golden nugget!

I have read several of Cameron his books so far. Also had the privilege meeting him in person in December 2016! He's an amazing character and you will get to know him through his books. The insights in this book prepares me to be a better leader and business owner. Both on a moral, professional and spiritual level. I think lots of (business) leaders use the power of visualization and are mission driven but Cameron is one of a few that emphasizes the importance of it.

Definitely a must listen/read!

Don’t bother, unless you’re really into hubris

There’s nothing new or special about this story. The author spends more time on developing busyness than business. A lot of tech and human performance references are outdated and have been proven to not work as promised by the author. There are a lot of better books on the particular elements of the strategy mentioned in this book than this one.

Great Material

There is a lot of great advice in this book. There are a couple things I don't agree with like poaching employees from other companies. I would recommend this book to entrepreneurs and there are great tips for people who aren't entrepreneurial.
