Summary

They took his sister, thinking no one would come. They were wrong. This time, the battle is personal. This time, evil has chosen the wrong victim.

Resigned to never finding peace from the war long behind him, retired warrior Thomas Donovan is now faced with an even deadlier conflict...one that could cost him the last of his humanity.

Once a member of an elite underground unit, the only wars Thomas knows now are the ones that rage inside him. All he wants is to stay under the radar of existence, trying to forget the past and isolating himself from the present.

When extremists kidnap a group of women from a Christian church in Syria, the past and present collide, forcing Donovan to act. This time, the battle is personal. This time, evil has chosen the wrong victim, and Thomas Donovan will not stop until he has made those responsible pay.

Facing insurmountable odds in hostile territories and always one step behind, will he be too late to save the life of the one he holds dear?

"Riveting unexpected twists, gritty realism, and first-hand adventure arei nside this book. Get it now." -JL Bourne, author of Tomorrow War and Day by Day Armageddon

Unexpected, excellent

Excellent narrator, lots of action, well written. Reminds me of how Peter Kirsanow Second Strike author writes for the bad guys, sets up both sides in depth, not just the good guys figuring things out and kicking butt. I’ve read them all from Vince Flynn to Ben Coes and Brad Thor, Mark Greaney to Tom Wood and Dalton Fury. Lundy is in that league, can’t wait to explore the authors other novels!

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Stunningly Brave🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

The tortured soul of a wounded veteran is laid bare in this action packed military adventure. Tommy is has a good heart, but does whatever it takes to get things done; no bad guy is safe. The narrator expertly brings these characters to life, making this an unforgettable experience. While there is a lot of technical jargon, it's still written plainly enough for anyone to enjoy and even though it's part of a series, this book can absolutely stand on its own. This is genuine quality writing that will stand the rest of time.

excellent, interesting characters

overall very well written and well developed. the book stands alone and ties up loose ends, although there are interesting back story items answered and a clear opening for a second book. it is s rare book these days that is fulfilling without having to keep reading the next one. i bought both Tommy Donovan books after reading on Kindle Unlimited and on Audible. I have only done this a few times, Twighlight series , Alex Fletcher, jakarta Pandemic and the follow up 5 book set, Little Women unabridged, and these two..The books have technical details, but only enough for a well developed story. A broken hero that is well developed. ,flawed but more to the light side of grey than dark.Read the books, they are excellent.

Well done!

I’m a say this book was better than I expected. Mr. Lundy has a great way of putting things, and I found his writing quite descriptive and entertaining. This is a great story and I do hope that he continues the story of Mr. Donovan

Awesome read!

Like a good whiskey, It slowly draws you in with an introduction to the main character. Then like the whiskey when you stand up it slams you between the eyes with a gripping tale of international intrigue and fast passed action. A well thought out military thriller with current affairs, gun fights, revenge. What else can you ask for?

like a real world Jack Ryan

... if Jack Ryan carried a knife and an assault rifle. great story. well thought out. I enjoyed this book immensely. first book I've read by this author but it won't be the last. Lundy does good writing and Rahhal is a great narrator.
I really enjoy Lundy's streamline plot. at the end of the book you can definitely say that something happened. a lot of writers now a days fill their books with boring filler and useless information, not Lundy here. keep it up.
