Summary

On a lonely stretch of Welsh coastline, a fisherman is killed by a hideous creature from beneath the waves. When the Doctor and Rose arrive, they discover a village where the children are plagued by nightmares, and the nights are ruled by monsters. The villagers suspect that ancient industrialist Nathanial Morton is to blame, but the Doctor has suspicions of his own. Who are the ancient figures that sleep in the old priory? What are the monsters that prowl the woods after sunset? What is the light that glows in the disused lighthouse on Black Island? As the children's nightmares get worse, The Doctor and Rose discover an alien plot to resurrect an ancient evil.

Featured are the Doctor and Rose as played by David Tennant and Billie Piper in the hit series from BBC Television.

Critic reviews

" Doctor Who: The Nightmare of Black Island tells of monsters brought to life by children¿s nightmares that are caused by broadcasts made by fiendisaliens with peel off faces (worse imagined than seen). I was horribly gripped by Anthony Head¿s narration and Mike Tucker¿s sound Effects." ( The Times)

Great story.

Imaginative, scary and humorous, read with great attention and voice talent by Anthony Head. His Time Lording, Rose sass and Welsh accent are superb. Very enjoyable.

Great performance by Toni Head

Great Doctor Who story. Loved the performance by Toni Head who breathes wonderful life into the characters to lift them from the page.
The interview at the end shouldn't be missed either.

What nightmares are made of.

A great 10th Doctor and Rose story. A lighthouse, aliens, kids creating monsters from their nightmares. This story has everything. Anthony Head of Buffy the vampire slayer fane narrates this story. He does a great job. A great adventure.

OK story with a brilliant twist

I liked the story, even though I became a bit bored halfway through. But the last scenes had me! The story has a beautiful twist and it more than made up for it. I did like how Doctor and Rose were portrayed.
