disturbingly slow and drawn out

Would you try another book written by Tilly Bagshawe or narrated by Barbara Rosenblat?

The narrator was very good, but even she couldn't pick up the pace of the book. If the book had been about 1/3 shorter the story would have moved along nicely, I lost interest after part 1!
