About this listen

Class-A Threat: The year is 2074. Alex is a 15-year-old student dreaming of a career as a space guide. He eats, sleeps, and breathes stars - but life has other plans. That's how Disgardium, a new online game, becomes his only means of reaching his goal.

Apostle of the Sleeping Gods: A Sleeping God gave you its power, but now demands absolute loyalty and obedience even in real life. Something called the Destroying Plague wants its Emissary to infect everyone alive and, as luck would have it, that Emissary is you!

The Destroying Plague: Scyth and his friends find themselves under the watchful eye of the preventers. But this is just one of many problems; the Sleeping God has another impossible quest for them. The old enemy Big Po thirsts for vengeance, and the Nucleus of the Destroying Plague prepares to take cruel revenge against the former Herald . . .

Resistance: The armies of the Commonwealth, the Empire, and the neutral factions, all the leading players and clans of the preventers, have been summoned under the banners of Nergal the Radiant to the sands of the deadly Lakharian Desert, to wage war against a most terrible enemy of all life itself-Scyth.

Fun with a couple twists. it's set in an interesting future but not overwhelmingly different from many litrpg books.

I want to start by saying I hate the MC. No really - he sucks as a person.
Another thing is that the world building in this book was done well and the story is built really well.
Book 1 was an eye roll book 2 was mildly irritating but I was hooked on the story by book 3 . I thought the series was ending in book 4 but the story ended on a cliffhanger of note… guess who just got books 5-8 to keep the story going?

So I love the execution of the story even if there is so much in the air

Great writing and world building

First I would like to point out that to really enjoy these books, you really have to be a hardcore fantasy & gaming fan. These books have a lot of action, but also a lot, and I mean A LOT, of gameplay details that sometimes even to me felt like overkill. But that is literally the only criticism I have. I thoroughly enjoyed all three books, listening to the entire 50 odd hours with much gusto. And then bought next two instalments.

Loved it

Great stuff. Keeps things fresh throughout, even if it doesn't consistently deliver on all the arcs it starts. Still, this is a lot of book for a single credit, with plenty of laugh-out-loud moments and return on investment. Would strongly recommend

Huge book, great litrpg
