About this listen

2021 Audie Award Winner for Best Romance Audiobook

An Amazon Charts and Washington Post best seller

From New York Times best-selling authors Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward comes an unexpected love story that started with a boy and girl and heats up when the man and woman reconnect.

I’d never forgotten him - a man I’d yet to meet.

Griffin Quinn was my childhood pen pal, the British boy who couldn’t have been more different from me. Over the years, through hundreds of letters, we became best friends, sharing our deepest, darkest secrets and forming a connection I never thought could break.

Until one day, it did.

Then, out of the blue, a new letter arrived. A scathing one - one with eight years of pent-up anger. I had no choice but to finally come clean as to why I stopped writing.

Griffin forgave me, and somehow we were able to rekindle our childhood connection. Only now we were adults, and that connection had grown to a spark. Our letters quickly went from fun to flirty to downright dirty, revealing our wildest fantasies. So it only made sense that we would take our relationship to the next level and see each other in person.

Only Griff didn’t want to meet. He asked that I trust him and said it was for the best. But I wanted more - more Griff, in the flesh - so I took a big chance and went looking for him. People have done crazier things for love.

But what I found could change everything.

Critic reviews

"Jacob Morgan and Andi Arndt share the narration of this highly charged romance.... Morgan and Arndt both emote as their characters exchange "dirty letters" and sexual taunts that grow steamier and more erotic, including descriptions of BDSM sex play." --AudioFile Magazine

"An anxious, agoraphobic heroine takes center stage in this optimistic contemporary from Keeland and Ward...Griffin and Luca’s letters are endearing and believably intimate.... Readers motivated to see this unlikely heroine succeed will forgive the more fantastical indulgences of this light, escapist romance." --Publishers Weekly

I love this writing duo, they always write beautifully together and you can never tell who wrote what parts. It's the perfect book to have a break from all the dark romance I read.

Luca and Griffin have a very unique story, their situation is not like anything I have read before and things are definitely not easy for these two. They bonded through writing letters as pen pals when they where younger but lost touch after events caused them to stop writing to each other. They must learn to trust one another again as well as over come hurdles life has thrown in their way.

I loved hearing the letters and I was walking around Sainsbury's with a huge goofy grin on my face. I laughed hard and also felt every inch of pain these characters where put through.

Lovely read that kept me hooked

What a great story, it was very well written and I loved the theme, all of her difficulties and hurts. I did cry near the end, because it was a lovely story, I loved Griffin he was a very patient man as I doubt I could have put up with all her ailments lol.
The narrator’s were excellent, they brought the story to life and made it very interesting.
I do recommend reading it!

story was great! personally i did not like the male voice, something about hos tone, like he just read out loud, and also, there was a lot of "mouth sounds" and breathing. But, still a great book :-)

not a fan of the male narrator

I throughly enjoyed this book quite different from the norm Lucas issues were heartbreaking and the crying towards the end made me gulp the narration was good but being English the male started with an English accent but was soon dropped as the book progressed which was a shame however I still recommend 4.5stars due to dropped accent
