Useful for beginners

Jude is very personal on every level in this book. Not only does a lot of what he says resonate with me, but I'm also 100% sure it will with others.

Great intro and excellent ideas

I will have to read sections again as I make progress. The exercises are difficult but worth the effort & pain. If you do it, you will change it! Your partner may not, but it won't bring you down emotionally

one of the best books I've ever had

This book goes beyond sheer theory and really gets down to the nitty-gritty of how to go about practicing DBT. Highly recommend!

A great resource to depressed people

This is an easy to understand book that could be used on its own, in addition to therapy, or even during therapy sessions.

Saved my life!

I'm not exaggerating! After screwing up another relationship and hurting someone dear to me, I looked hard at myself and wondered why at 49 I was still doing the same stupid things! I was diagnosed with bpd when I was 47 but being old school I didn't want to use these new categories to excuse my behaviour and to be honest I felt stupid, like I was mental, born wrong, not normal, despite the fact I'm actually quite intelligent, and I never bothered to learn anything about bpd until as I said above. The first chapter had me in tears! It was as if the narrator knew me inside out, like no one has ever done before. One line stood out that really made me sit up and pay attention and made me realize I have to get a serious grip on this and change my ways! It's taken me 2 months to write this review because I didn't want to write it in the emotional state I was in but rather once I had thought about and digested everything, and put into practice some of the suggestions! It's not a cure, it takes work, self reflecting and a commitment to change but this is a great listen. I was actually at the point of seeking a private therapist which I could really afford but this audio book really did change me for the better. I still have work to do I can never say I'm cured but honestly it really has changed my life and I'll be forever thankful to the author!

Absolutely Good

I like the way this audiobook is clear and concise and to the point. I also appreciated the section on core beliefs as that is important and not always talked about.
