Fan favourites Nora Kelly and Corrie Swanson return in the new thriller from international bestsellers Preston and Child.
Forced to leave her post at the Santa Fe Archaeological Institute, Nora Kelly is left without a job and without any prospects. So when billionaire Lucas Tappan invites her to lead his excavation of the infamous Roswell landing site, she has no choice but to make a decision that could destroy her reputation.
Armed with a healthy dose of scepticism, Nora reluctantly agrees to visit the site. When the preliminary scans of the area reveal a suspected Native American burial site, Nora takes a closer look.
But this is no indigenous burial site. It's a crime scene, and a recent one at that. Nora uncovers two dead bodies, one with a bullet hole in its skull. Dead bodies mean this has become a case for the FBI, and Nora knows just the person to investigate – Special Agent Corrie Swanson.
As Corrie and Nora dig deeper into the mystery, they will uncover more questions than answers. And the truth they seek will be even stranger than the conspiracy it hides behind.

'Another clever and compelling tale ... The stellar writing is still in abundance, and Preston and Child balance the line between page-turning suspense and ancient history' Associated Press.

'The action zigzags like an out-of-control rocket toward a double-deceptive conclusion' Kirkus Reviews.

'Sit back and get ready for the ride of your life' David Baldacci.

Loved the story. But the narrator sounded too much like a news anchor….by no fault of her own….but it unfortunately made listening less enjoyable for me.

Maybe read this one

I have devoured Preston&Child books, and really like Corrie Swanson character. Here the narrator makes listening very hard, trying to lower her voice unnaturally for male characters, and as men are speaking a lot, it really eats the pleasure of the story.

Odd performance

aliens are a new twist, I prefer the curse/monster elements but the characters are enjoyable and I enjoy listening to the narration

another good story

I enjoyed this story. Several reviewers seemed to find it outlandish and didn’t enjoy it but for me this story goes back to origins of this writing partnership.

Yes it’s a bit out there but we have enjoyed characters from this universe that are hundreds of years old, strange monsters and, who could forget the time Pendergast used meditation to see the past. After reading other reviews and before I actually read the story myself
I though that the book was going to be much crazier than it actually was. Give it a try! It’s a nice adventure.

Back to their origins.

It is an „easy holidays listen” - you may be completely distracted and still there is very low chance you will lose the płot ;-).
It is not a bad thing - you just should know what to expect.
The story is very simple, even over-simplified, with very few surprises. Still, it wasn’t boring or confusing.

Don’t expect too much so you won’t be dissapointed :-)
