Summary

Ten years ago, The Harlequin Boys broke my heart.

I thought my life was complete with them at my side, the five of us against the world, having each other’s backs no matter what the cost.

I’d fight for them until my dying breath.

It’s just a shame they didn’t feel the same.

Once upon a time, my imperfect world shone bright with the light of four boys I would have killed for.

This is the story of how they destroyed me.

This is a 45k prequel novella to the Harlequin Crew series. These books have dark themes, violence, criminals, gangs, and an enemies to lovers romance that will make your heart pound, break it a little, and then crush it beneath the boots of four black hearted men who our girl might just fall for anyway.

One word ADDICTED

This novella has me the MOST excited I have ever been for a new series. One word ADDICTED 💕

I cannot get enough of the characters and the story and wonder how its going to develop.

This is the perfect introduction to the backstories of the characters and how they interact and become who they are as adults.

I am so so so excited to continue this series.
I have listened and read this over and over 🤣🙈

Heartbreakingly Beautiful

***** May Contain Spoilers *****

This novella tells the story of Rogue and her 4 boys, the Harlequin boys. Their friendship and love for each other carries them through their rough upbringing, living in the shadows of the Harlequin Gang, that Fox and Maverick are destined to join.

But one fateful night sets them all onto a different path that what they had hoped, their dreams of a future together, all 5 of them, crashing to the dust, leaving Rogue heartbroken and alone.

The two narrators did a great job and their voices fit the characters perfectly. They really made the story come alive.

Peckham and Valenti writes so fluently and engaging that my heart broke, right along with all of them. These girls can do no wrong and I can't wait to begin this series after this intro. I already love all these characters.

Devil's Pass

Devil's Pass is a prequel to The Harlequin Crew. In this book we meet Rogue, Maverick, Chase, Fox and JJ. This book is told from multiple points of view. We get to know Rogue and her friendship with the four boys. Rogue is starting to have feelings for all four boys, and each boy is starting to fall for Rogue as well.

Something happens to Rogue and the four boys drop everything to help her clean it up. All the kids have rough lives and decide they are going to run away together. However someone finds out and Rogue ends up having to leave, and the boys have to do something to join a gang.

The boys have to act like they hate Rogue and they send her off. So Rogue feels betrayed. They are doing it to save her life, but she doesn’t know that. Maverick tries to go after Rogue and now something happened to him, and he feels betrayed by the rest of the guys.

This is a great beginning to The Harlequin Crew series. I can't wait to see what happens next!

Great prequel to an amazing series

It's no secret that Sinners' Playgrounds is by far one of my most favorite contemporary RH books, and therefore, Devil's Pass is too by extension. It does an amazing job of setting the mood for us and gives us a little more insight into the characters. You don't have to read/listen to this before reading/listening to Sinners' Playground, but I highly recommend that you do. Consider it the foreplay before the main action that is SP.

Roller coaster of a start

Wow! These ladies did not start off this series lightly with this novella . I can’t wait to see how Sinners’ Playground plays out years later. I have a feeling things will not be pretty.

I absolutely loved this audio and story.

I absolutely loved this audio and story.

The narration is some of the best duel narration Ive heard(female does female chapter povs, male does male chapter povs) I loved the voices. Rogue the FMC voice is perfect for her. I'm very picky about voices and I read  this charather first and the narrator is Rogue. And the male narrator did a great job with all the guys really differentiating them. Both of their narrations were fantastic throughout the duel narration.

The story is a prequel to Sinners Playground and takes plave 10 years before that story when the charathers are best friends at 16. This tells the story of there friendship and the events that change all their lives. How the boys end up in the gang and where they are at the start of Sinners Payground. Making it a second chance. This is a full story. Longer then a typical novella, not only satisfying but a really fantastic story in and of itself that'll make you extremely excited to for Sinners Playground which is one of my favorites a 6/5 ⭐

Amazing Prequel

This novella - although I would hardly call this just a 'novella' since it has a larger word count than some of the novels I've read in the past - kicks off a new series by these two amazing authors.

I got to know these authors through Everlake Prep and have been hooked ever since. Knowing how they like to build up the angst and tension, it came as no surprise that this novella was just that. Introducing new characters and a new plot that will for sure rip my heart to pieces on several occasions, but I digress.

I totally recommend this novella to be read before you go in the first book of the series, as it gives you some background information you do not want to miss out on. You see a different side from the characters and what lead them to be separated in the first place and it adds to the character development because you get to see the different points of view and just know how they feel about each other. That in itself made this book a gutwrenching read,  but as usual, the authors have a way of writing their story where they manage to balance that feeling out largely. It still packs a huge punch however, but I have faith in the journey these authors will take us on.

The narrators are the same ones that did the Kings of Quarantine books and I really enjoy listening to them A LOT! They did a great job of giving personality to these characters.
