Summary

When the body of a girl turns up in an affluent East Lothian town, the main suspect is a teen with a history of run-ins with the police. When it’s revealed that both the victim’s family and the suspect’s family belong to an offshoot group of the Catholic Church, DC Cullen realises he needs to unravel the secrets of their secret community if he hopes to catch the killer.

Good and bad

Mixed opinions on this. The story is good enough but behaviour of the DI and the attitude towards his team is unbelievable and in real life he wouldn't have a job.
The narrator still makes the female characters sound like they're about to burst into tears but is marginally better than the previous book.
