Story
During Jesus' earthly ministry, one of the primary ways he would instruct his disciples was through parables. People would gather from far and wide in order to listen to what Jesus said about the kingdom of God, and the most common way he would explain the kingdom was in parables. But what does God want us to learn from these parables? In this series, Dr. R.C. Sproul examines several parables of Jesus, exploring the rich truths they reveal about who Jesus is and what he came to achieve through his life, death, and resurrection.

Story
With nearly 200,000 copies sold in its 25 years, Chosen by God by Dr. R. C. Sproul is a contemporary classic on predestination, a doctrine that isn't just for Calvinists, says Sproul. It is a doctrine for all biblical Christians. In this updated and expanded edition of Chosen by God, Sproul shows that the doctrine of predestination doesn't create a whimsical or spiteful picture of God but paints a portrait of a loving God who provides redemption for radically corrupt humans.

What can the call to discipleship, the adherence to the word of Jesus, mean today to the businessman, the soldier, the laborer, or the aristocrat? What did Jesus mean to say to us? What is his will for us today? Drawing on the Sermon on the Mount, Dietrich Bonhoeffer answers these timeless questions by providing a seminal reading of the dichotomy between "cheap grace" and "costly grace."

One contemporary scholar and authority on Spurgeon says of this work: "Next to Mr. Spurgeon's great literary work, The Treasury of David, we consider (these) Lectures to My Students his greatest single contribution to the Christian world. There is more practical wisdom, common sense and sage advice packed within these pages than with any other book of similar size, or content." This complete and unabridged edition of Spurgeon's great work will make it possible for today's generation to appreciate Spurgeon's combination of discerning wit and refreshingly practical advice.

Story
What do Christians hope for? To leave this wicked world and go to 'heaven'? For the 'kingdom of God' to grow gradually on earth? What do we mean by the 'resurrection of the body', and how does that fit with the popular image of sitting on clouds playing harps? And how does all this affect the way we live in the here and now? Tom Wright, one of our leading theologians, addresses these questions in this provocative and wide-ranging new book.

Story
Can't anyone teach me how to pray?"" Millions of people today are asking the same question. There is a sense of the necessity of prayer - we have to pray. But how?' Prayer is central to Christian faith; indeed, as Timothy Keller notes in his introduction, it is the main way we experience deep change. Yet so many people struggle with prayer - a struggle that the author himself has shared. This wise and inspiring book is the fruit of those struggles, offering a real and glorious vision of what it can mean to seek God in prayer.

Story
Old Paths is a collection of 19 of J. C. Ryle's most effective tracts on the leading truths of Christianity, which are, as he says, "necessary to salvation." In including in such a series Inspiration, Election, and Perseverance, he allows that good Christians have disagreed and will still disagree about them, but he inserts them nevertheless on account of the immense importance of the first and the extraordinary neglect into which the last two have fallen. Ryle's racy style, plainspokenness, and good taste are sure to secure your affection and hold your attention.
Summary
It is through the Spirit that we develop these traits, grow in grace, and glorify God. Dr. R.C. Sproul explores these qualities and the transforming power they evidence.

Another great book from R.C. Sproul
What made the experience of listening to Developing Christian Character the most enjoyable?
There is a significant amount of fairly deep theology in here, so not necessarily for the new Christian. I found it to be very enlightening, and educational for myself (I would consider myself to be a maturing Christian). Great for those that want an in-depth look at the theologies that make us Christians!

I've listened to hours of stuff by Francis Chan, John Macarthur, read many of C. S. Lewis's great works,, and the like but this has to take the cake of the best of them all. How R.C. Sproul managed to pack this much amazing insight into 5 hours and some change is truly a work of God.

A vade Mecum practical christian living book so rich and analytical apologetics for our time!
A great book on practical Christianity..R. C. Sproul has demonstrated his experiential, philosophical and theological in-depth mastery of the Christian living with practical biblical approach
. I recommend this book to all those who want to live a Christ- like life and those interested in apologetics in our current age of post modernism and serious challenges to Christianity in an apparent disturbed, highly tumultuous pluralistic societies.
His is a resource book; indeed a vase mecum.
