Summary

Pastor and cofounder of the Bethel School of Ministry Kris Vallotton walks Christians through the profound process of discovering their true identity and experiencing the wonder of their kingdom purposes.

Christians are often told that they were born with a purpose that reaches beyond their human strivings, but most are not sure how to break past the daily struggles holding them back, much less how to fully step into their callings.

As a pastor and the cofounder of the Bethel School of Ministry, Kris Vallotton has been teaching Christians all over the world how to walk in wholeness and purpose for more than 17 years. In Destined to Win, he passes on the lessons that will help readers discover who they really are, overcome destructive behaviors, and become equipped for their kingdom purposes.

Confronting the challenges that limit Christians - such as living shackled by past pain, fear, and unforgiveness - Vallotton offers practical solutions to the often complex problems that undermine their destinies and derail their purposes. With personal stories and biblical teaching, Destined to Win combines practical wisdom and profound revelation to unlock the latent potential present in each person.

Lives Up to Its' Title

What did you love best about Destined to Win?

Having sat under the teaching of Kris for years in Bethel Church, I've appreciated his simple and blunt, yet humble style of communication. Destined to Win continues in his genuine vein of imparting truths designed to being awareness and freedom to ones life, which implicitly gives people permission to be human, yet calls them to nobility. I love this about his words, and this book.

What other book might you compare Destined to Win to and why?

I might compare Destined to Win with The 8th Habit by Stephen R. Covey, in that they both focus on helping individuals and organizations maximize their innate potential, but Destined to Win is much more explicit about the role God plays in making this happen.

Which scene was your favorite?

Kris's candid admission of his personal style of external processing was one of my favorites. In addition, his discussion of the Nobility "bus", or group of people helped me to to discover my voice in a new way. Now I realize why it often has taken extra work for me to connect with others. Learning about this is very cathartic and helps me to see that I need to put forth more effort to connect with others of my "tribe", and gives me hope that there is a group of people to which I belong, dispelling the notion that I'm alone.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. It's mix of principles with concrete stories and illustrations made it relatable and interesting, although to get the most out of the book there are certain question posed by Kris which one might be interested in answering to discover more about themselves and their organization.

Any additional comments?

It's a strong book that was certainly worth the purchase price, especially since I'm Christian and am cut from the same clothe as Bethel Church. However, this does not preclude others from getting a lot out of Destined to Win since his simple and direct language doesn't use too much "Christianese."

I would add that the ending, though valuable, is not a strong finish. I look for books to have a strong, memorable ending, but Destined to Win unfortunately neglects this formality of writing. This mistake notwithstanding, if read and applied, this book would surely change the life of anyone who read it and give them the tools and courage to change their world.

Great motivating book

First off, I'm totally biased because I love Kris. I'm glad he was the one reading the book because you can hear his heart in the book as he reads. This book helps you know your greatness and motivates you to rise to achieve it. It also gives your heart an extra boost of knowing and feeling God's love. I will go back and listen to this book to remember who I am and my potential. You won't be disappointed.

Destined to win

This is a insightful, revelatory manuscript that gave stories of personal growth and biblical insight. Kris Valleton takes being transparent and honest in love to a new level of understanding. Coming to a revelation on who your people are. Seeing how finding like-minded people and running together is a great tool in helping understand that finding your destiny or call is about building a team you can serve well and lead well.
once again one of his books that I will read/listen and implement into our lives as we press into being a part of the body of Jesus Christ. inspired to live as Nobel royalty more!!

Amazing!!! More than what I thought it would be

first off, I love listening to Kris speak he sounds really comforting and encouraging as well as really funny.
the Content of the book is more than what I thought it to have. I am so grateful that Kris said what he said/ wrote what he wrote. This helps me propel to the things that God has been planting in me. Also helps me reassess myself. I love how he mixed in content from good to great (a book which I recently) read and incorporated it in the ministry. Thank you so much for being obedient and valuing Gods children Kris
