I shouldn’t be surprised at this point.
I loved it. More than loved it, I devoured it!
When I heard that this was a fan favourite, I thought I knew EXACTLY what I was in for. From the blurb, it’s a super steamy, age gap, sapphic romance... Right?
And... 1000% it is!
All the delicious tension, steam, flirting, banter and sheer chemistry between Taylor and Raquel had me thirsting for more.
I was not ready for their story to end.
The first half of this book is all about the tease and heat, shenanigans galore.
Soooo much pining.
But when it’s time for them to part, and the Reunion is over... reality sets in, and they have a choice to make.
What I was not expecting, was that J.J would rip my heart out, stomp on it, dust it off, then put it back in, and I’d say ‘thank you’.
Raquel’s Ice Queen exterior immediately melted in my mind as soon as her father’s condition was brought into the picture. The devotion and love it takes to care for someone with Dementia, struck my heart in a way I didn’t expect, and it was handled with such respect and dignity, that I couldn’t help but fall in love with her a little myself.
Then the way that Taylor stepped up to be there for Raquel when she needed someone the most, it just solidified my adoration for the pair of them.
Together, their sweet, tender and downright beautiful connection shines through in every gesture, every communication, and I am so here for it!
Kingsley Rose, I’ve said it before, and I will continue to do so... The way she narrates these stories, it evokes such emotion in me.
Every quiver of breath, every nuance, every held back smirk, you hear it! Which is MAGIC!
And the banter... Fuuuck. I ate that up.
As a dyslexia sufferer, I struggle to read the traditional way... with my eyes... So I listen, and there is no way I’d experience a story in the same way if I tried to read it.
I look forward to every other work of art she brings to life with her voice.
