About this listen

Adrift in an unknown sector of space, Slater and the crew of the Franklin are cut off from friendly support and surrounded by enemies on all sides.

The mysterious council means to destroy him, but a derelict core is a deadly opponent, and Captain Slater will stop at nothing to get his crew home safely.

It’s time for Slater to go on the offensive.

It’s time to take the fight to the enemy.

It’s time to counterattack!

The buildup to the end was pretty good with more characters and species coming into the story. However the tension wasnt paid off in the last chapter, it felt like a let down to witness more of the interim struggle. There was a bit of a rush to tie up loose threads.
I did, on the other hand, immediately look for book 3 (which isnt out yet at the time of my review) in the hopes i could get my answers. I will be buying it when it comes out.

A well written and narrated continuation of the story which sees Slater fighting to stay one step ahead. The world continues to be fascinating with new races and technology to fight against. The ending feels a little sudden but opens up more possibilities for where the next book will go.

A page turner

Thoroughly enjoyed this sequel to the original Derelict. It builds on some of the weaknesses in the first book and is much better paced. The story was more driven in this one and it rounds off nicely leading into the third book in the series.

Again Jack is back with the narration of the book and he does another great job with the character work and keeps the book engaging throughout.

I thoroughly enjoyed this one and look forward to seeing where book 3 takes us.

Loved both the story and performance. Can't wait for the next book to become available. Would recommend, even if you are not generally a LitRPG fan - I am not, and this is my first series in this genre, but I am hooked.

Couldn't pause it!
