Brilliant and life changing audiobook

I Changed my Mind

When I first skimmed this book, I was disappointed. I thought to myself, same old, same old. I am on an antidepressant, and I always say that for the first time in my life, I feel "normal". I pretty much had already heard all the information presented by .Barry Lee I even thought of sending the book back to Amazon and getting my money back.

This book is the REAL DEAL.

There is no "silver bullet" or "magic potion" for curing depression and this book is no exception to that reality. However, the program outlined in this book will give you good insight into possible causes and coping methods to make the world seem a happier place. After putting many of the steps outlined in this book to work in my life I have seen dramatic positive changes. If you or someone you know is battling depression.

Cool book, simple but enlightening

If anything at all, this book serves the purpose of giving all the nagging that my mom is so very used to throwing my way some sort of intellectually sound basis, which, I guess, mightn't be so bad a thing at all. All those daily subjects.

Really enjoying this book

Checked this book out from the library and have found it so useful that I bought it. Information from this book has really captured hope back into a loved one who is suffering from depression. Medications and talk therapy are great, but not the solution to stop crushing waves of sadness.

This truly works!!!

This book is so great for anyone who has struggled with depression. It truly works and as I follow the steps in this book, I find I’m doing better and better each day. I’ve already shared this book with several people as it has made such a difference for me. If you want to feel so much better permanently, without the side affects of anti-depressants you really should give this book a try.

Really specific, practical advice

I was a little skeptical about this book because of the words "without medication" in the title. However, the author does not deny that medicine may be helpful and needed by some of us, which was a relief to me.

Better than prescription drugs: an actual cure

This book along with personalized nutrition made of whole foods (paleo + dairy works for me but everyone is different) and exercise (love my Debbie Siebers videos) lifted me out of a very long, deep depression. The omega-3's (EPA-DHA balance), Vitamin D3, etc. took time, maybe a month. My body was rebuilding and resetting. This worked much better than SSRIs. For me, SSRIs worked for about 2 weeks and then were hard to get off of. I feel content. Depression is no longer a problem for me.

Simple, clear steps to beat depression.

As a creative who has suffered several bouts of depression in my life, I found this book extremely helpful. Barry Lee gives a clear, simple six-step process to reduce depression and overcome it, naturally, without drugs. I had known about the role of exercise and meditation in beating depression, but some of the other steps I wasnt aware of. Barry Lee names one simple, easily obtained, inexpensive supplement that really works! His explanation is that modern man's lifestyle and diet has caused our bodies to become out of balance, leading to depression, and his fix is very easy. I found that following all six steps caused my current depression to lift quickly. While one could argue that changing routine and adding consistent exercise can lift depression on its own, the evidence provided in the book is very persuasive. My only criticism is that I would have liked Barry Lee to be more critical of modern medicine's rush to prescribe anti-depressants and medication instead of evaluating a patient's lifestyle and diet, but then, that's probably why he wrote this book.
