Summary

Introducing policeman Glenn Branson....

When actress Gloria Lamark takes her own life, her devoted son, Thomas, is heart-broken. Something must be wrong with a world in which such a tragedy is allowed to happen. How could her high-profile, media-star psychiatrist have failed to save such a special person, whom Thomas loved in such a very special way? Dr Tennent has a lesson to learn - a very painful one.

Michael Tennent is caught up in the first flush of love - but has no idea how dangerous romance can be. For both Michael and Thomas will do anything for the women they love....

Brilliant.

Gripping tale. Just wanted to keep on listening. I avidly read the Inspector Grace series and have read the other Peter James books audible offers. In the later group this is one of the best -on par with The Alchemist and Absolute Proof. Very detailed plot- best to listen with care and read in quite long session to grasp the twists and inferences made throughout the the story . This starts as a tail of revenge- but us it?
Quite interesting also to read about Peter James- himself

Absolutely Brilliant

just loved this book couldn't stop listening, had a lot of late nights Peter James is such a brilliant author wasn't keen on Leighton Pugh voice but after a while it got better, still think it would have been better if the narrator was different.

Gruesome and over long

I usually love Peter James, especially the Roy Grace books but this one is horrible. The story is dragged out, unrealistic and gruesome beyond what I could cope with. I returned it.

Very slow and dark.

I am a big fan of Mr James. But i must say that i did not enjoy this book. It was dragging on and on with too much details.
Very dark story line and uncomfortable.
I stopped listening couple of times , fast forwarded good no. of chapters as it was dragging on.
I dont think i recommend this book to anybody.

Best nail biting thriller!

Leighton Pugh is up right up there with Johnathan Keeble! And this is by far my best Peter James book and I’ve listened to many ! Wow I’ve been kept awake for hours couldn’t put it down!

It was so gruesome,

It was well written, just for me the violence and subject matter was not acceptable.

Branson saves the story.

Story very horrific and police are inept until Branson arrives and saves the day. Branson was only shot once in the Roy Grace books so continuity is lacking.
