This is basically a shorthand of Robert Cialdini's book, Influence, but with a heavy dose of identity politics. I would recommend reading Influence instead and skipping this book altogether. The author seems to exhibit a level of disgust for some "white men", describing them as such (often completely unnecessarily in the context of what is being discussed) at various points throughout the book. Presumably this is meant to come across as "anti-racist" and "progressive".
