Story
With nearly 200,000 copies sold in its 25 years, Chosen by God by Dr. R. C. Sproul is a contemporary classic on predestination, a doctrine that isn't just for Calvinists, says Sproul. It is a doctrine for all biblical Christians. In this updated and expanded edition of Chosen by God, Sproul shows that the doctrine of predestination doesn't create a whimsical or spiteful picture of God but paints a portrait of a loving God who provides redemption for radically corrupt humans.

The book serves as an introductory textbook on the Protestant faith for those with some previous knowledge of theology and covers a broad range of theological topics from the doctrines of church and sacraments to justification by faith alone and Christian liberty.

The Charismatic movement has always been a breeding-ground for scandal, greed, bad doctrine, and all kinds of spiritual chicanery. Best-selling author and pastor John MacArthur chronicles the unsavory history behind the modern Charismatic movement.

He must pass through the Slough of Despond, ward off the temptations of Vanity Fair, and fight the monstrous Apollyon. In Part II, his wife and children follow the same path, helped and protected by Great-heart, until for them, too, "the trumpets sound on the other side."

Drawing on the Sermon on the Mount, Dietrich Bonhoeffer answers these timeless questions by providing a seminal reading of the dichotomy between "cheap grace" and "costly grace."

Clear, concise and cogent
Would you listen to Defending Your Faith again? Why?
Yes. It has so many fruits that I'm sure I didn't get them all the first two or three times. I continued backing up my player to listen to some concept to make sure I had heard it correctly.
Who was your favorite character and why?
N/A
Have you listened to any of R. C. Sproul’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Nope. First time. But I just ordered two of his books in hard copy and another one from audible.com. Outstandingly clear. You may not agree with him but it won't be because you don't understand what he says.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Awesome. First book on apologetics that I thoroughly understood.
Any additional comments?
Interesting, especially with metaphors and anecdotes to emphasize points. Cogent, proceeds from the simple to the complex with each step thoroughly explained without being verbose.

Intelligent defense for the christian faith
Would you consider the audio edition of Defending Your Faith to be better than the print version?
I always love hearing audio from the author because they covey their ideas and points of emphasis more clearly.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Defending Your Faith?
What stands out to me the most is the author's complete destruction of the concept of self creation. I was fed that garage as a biology major in college and made to feel stupid for my faith in God.
What does R. C. Sproul bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The author pointed out how most people just accept any concept without question if a seemingly intelligent person presents the concept in a sincere and forceful way. He demonstrated from one of his own classroom experiences as a teacher by giving a false assertion that not only the students bought but a visiting professor didn't see through.
Any additional comments?
This is a must read for all Christians and all non Christians because it clearly not only establishes the possibility of the existence of God but the absolute necessity of the existence of God. Then the book moves on to show that the bible is not only reliable and credible by Christian standards but also by secular standards.

but I am finding him quite engaging, and, refreshingly intelligent in his approach to theology.
