Another heartwarming story by Rowan Colman!
Started a bit slow for me but I was swept away soon enough and fell in love with the characters. The narration was brilliant. Really enjoyed it!

I love this book, it has so many hidden depths you just can’t stop listening. The only criticism that I have is the voice of Frasier. He’s supposed to be a Scotsman, but the accent is more Irish, I noticed because I live with the Scotsman. The book is beautiful and moving.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

This book is intelligent and enjoyable. It deals with a delicate subject (domestic abuse) but it is not a heavy read. The character are well developed and the reader gets a real insight of the situation and the reactions (sometimes difficult to understand from an outsider point of view) of how domestic violence can settled itself in a couple. But it is first and foremost the story of a person who gets herself out of this vicious cycle and rebuild herself without never be cheesy. It is an excellent read and a good balance between serious matters and good reading material. The performance by Anne Dover is perfect, as usual.

A must read especially for survivors of DV, to realise that life can begin again! I laughed and cried throughout and loved the characters, so well portrayed by one of the best narrators I've listened to.
