Is duty enough reason to live a lie? When John meets Savannah, he realises he is ready to make some changes. Always the angry rebel at school, he has enlisted in the Army, not knowing what else to do with his life. Now he's ready to turn over a new leaf for the woman who has captured his heart. What neither realises is that the events of 9/11 will change everything. John is prompted to re-enlist and fulfil what he feels is his duty to his country.

But the lovers are young and their separation is long. Can they survive the distance?

I've loved this book for years - it was the first book I cried in and to relive in through audible was great.

If you could sum up Dear John in three words, what would they be?

Heartbreaking incredible love

What was one of the most memorable moments of Dear John?

There were so many from how they met, their time on the beach, John and his father...

What about Holter Graham’s performance did you like?

Once I got used to his voice and Holter narrating Savannah's voice, I adored the way he brought the characters to life and bring out their passion and heartbreak.

If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

...fate is cruel...

Any additional comments?

I loved this story and going to watch the film to see if it can keep up with this brilliant book. I found myself smiling, crying and aching listening to the story, pining for a John of my own and being heartbroken at the end. I couldn't stop listening to the story and looking forward to play the story again :)
