Summary

Still struggling from the effects of a narcissistic or psychopathically abusive relationship?

Many people do and sadly there is very little information available to be found online, or in the written research, or with counselors, and therapists that can help. Narcissistic victim syndrome is not officially recognized, nor is it widely even known.

Even when it is accepted, recognized and known not many people seem to know what to do about it to heal it.... The fact is being in a relationship with a narcissist over a long period of time has long lasting traumatic effects that can be extremely catastrophic to the person suffering them.

Do the following symptoms sound familiar?

  • Ruined self confidence
  • Doubting yourself and your sanity
  • Mood swings
  • Sleeplessness
  • Extreme weight loss or weight gain
  • Uncharacteristic jealousy/ insecurity
  • Feeling like you don’t know the difference between right and wrong
  • Extreme paranoia (being turned into an obsessive detective)
  • Endless, repetitive obsessive thinking about your ex
  • Constantly trying to find explanations for what has happened
  • Feelings of helplessness and despair
  • A desire to self isolate
  • Feeling desperately misunderstood
  • Overwhelming feelings of loss and grief
  • Extreme bouts of rage
  • An inability to be comfortable with yourself
  • Strange dreams
  • Sudden inexplicable anxiety followed by rapid dips into depression

The list goes on....

“Nobody understands!” I hear this frustrated cry from abused people a lot.

I felt the same way when I was recovering from emotional abuse at the hands of a narcissistic/borderline psychopath. If you try and tell people who have no experience with a narcissist (there is no experience like being with a narcissist, its not their fault they can’t understand) about it they will either deny your experience, tell you you are exaggerating, or look at you like you were crazy.

“Maybe my ex is right, maybe it really is me....”

What you need now:

  • Someone who has been through the same experiences you have and understands them from the inside.
  • Someone who has the knowledge, training, education, and experience working on himself and others to lead you through the emotional sh*tstorm that breaking with a narcissist can create.
  • I can’t promise you that listening to to this book is going to be a “total cure”, but I can promise that if you apply yourself dilligently, take notes, listen, and re-check the chapters, follow all instructions to the letter, with a tenacious resolve to get better you will feel an instant decrease in anxiety within the first 24 hours and should see huge improvements within the first 3 days.
  • This is not hype, this is what my audience commonly report.

I loved this book.

I loved this book, it was very healing after escaping from a relation with a sociopath. It was very enlightening and empowering to listen to the entire process of how a sociopath's mind works and the author does a very good job of reaffirming the listener and helping start the healing process. This has definitely contributed greatly to my recovery

I actually walked away.

This book totally changed my life! It gave me a total understanding of what I was in and going through. I was still in my relationship at the time and it helps me mentally and emotionally understand and remove myself before I actually walked away.

LIFE CHANGING.

This book is LIFE CHANGING. An absolute must buy!! I’d recommend this to anyone, especially if you or a loved one thinks they have a psychopath in their lives or are recovering from having one in the past. This book is good for people associated with psychopaths in ALL capacities this book was everything that I've been looking for. The answers, explanation, motivation, and guidance after being a victim of a psychopath. I spent months not being able to understand what I went through but this book explained and described everything 100% accurately and now I'm not in the dark. Thank you for exposing the most horrible kind of people in the world

Absolutely amazing book.

Absolutely amazing and pulled our family through the vortex of interacting with a destructive person. Saved us our sanity, and possibly our life, from the mental destruction. Every once in awhile we think about who this person will choose for their next victim or next supply, and wish we could warn them. They won't know what hit them after the mask falls off!

Excellent book

This author and therapist give the finest advice for couples mired in this dance. She is a rare voice of compassion and hope amid what is generally an onslaught of condemnation for abusers. Thank you for this update!

Very Helpful Book

This is the most detailed, supportive and insightful view on the relationship problems a lot of people are experiencing, very helpful for those suffering from personality disorders and their families. I can't thank the author enough for the deep understanding of the dynamics that lay beneath the abusive relationship.

Outstanding

I like how the book goes piece by piece through abuse and recovery. I learned so much about myself and the relationships and people I have been attracted to. I’m making serious changes in my life and I’m attracted to many different men and relationships! I have hope again.

Not much new

If this is your first resource in learning about the narcissist, I think it provides the basics, I think it may be a good introductory resource. If you’ve read Divorcing the Narcissist by Theresa Covert, or done other study, I don’t think there’s much new about this book, it is largely repetitive.

Very Helpful Information!

A character like narcissism is almost impossible to deal with. This helped. This is a helpful and insightful book for those with a narcissist in the family (or other close quarters, like work), and wanting to learn how to enjoy life with them by better understanding them.

Only covered a handful of information on dealing with a narcissist

I feel it’s a good book but it covered the same few points in different ways many times.. it’s more like a chapter of an entire book.

This book is fantastic for explaining.

This book is fantastic for explaining the Dynamics that occur in relationships with Psychopaths and what can be done about it. Even if one is experienced with emotional and mental abuse, this book is great for providing insight and real-world examples.

I highly recommend this book to anyone.

I highly recommend this book to anyone that was in a toxic relationship or trying to get out of one. This book has made me realize that I am not alone and I was the victim and that it wasn’t my fault. It focuses all on the victim & has really helped me heal and gave me the tools to move forward after a relationship from hell.

Fantastic Book

I’m not even finished the book yet and I love it. So much so that I have two friends asking to borrow it already. Wonderfully written and the perfect amount of harsh truth given to gentle words of encouragement.
