Summary

A corrupt detective found dead...asenior officer with links to organised crime...and a former colleague on trial.

When a detective who's been suspended pending a corruption investigation is murdered, alarm bells start ringing for DI Zoe Finch and her team.

Was the victim connected to organised crime boss Trevor Hamm? Was he in league with Zoe's former colleague Ian Osman? And why is CID boss David Randle trying to curtail the investigation?

With her mentor off sick and a new boss breathing down her neck, Zoe must investigate without drawing attention to herself.

Can she prove what she knows about Detective Superintendent Randle? Will she escape suspicion herself? And can she protect the people she cares about from the threat of retribution?

Don't miss the explosive finale to the DI Zoe Finch series, which pulls together the compelling threads from Books 1-5.

Can't wait to see what she writes next. Brilliant writer and excellent narration. Gripping as usual.

Great end to the series

Loved the story line with the underlying theme across the whole series. Devouring them all in a short period of time . Well written, loved the narration too. Must admit I came across the Dorset Crime series with Lesley Clarke and listened to that first, waiting for the next publication of that. All of these books are enjoyable, engrossing you won’t be able to put them down !

Narration ruins it

I don’t think Rachel McLean can be reading the reviews because she surely would have tried a different narrator by now. Jan Cramer does nothing for this story and in fact ruins it. The emphasis and accentuation throughout the performance makes no sense as to how the character is feeling or behaving. I’m sure the story would be gripping if it was narrated properly. Please change your story teller and then the book would be a “page turner”. Jan - stick to acting not narration.

Good story but did not enjoy the narration

I thought this story was really good. However, the narration was very stilted and irritating.
Most of the male characters spoke as though they were intellectually challenged, angry ( even when they weren’t) and a bit ..... wierd!
The female DC sounded about 12years old and too ‘bright’.
