Bound by darkness, trapped by obsession.

Wynter Blanc has always been the outsider, overshadowed by her stepmother's eerie madness and sinister conversations with mirrors.

On her eighteenth birthday, a shocking secret forces her to flee into the unforgiving Alaskan wilderness. Kaden Prince, the leader of the Deadly Seven Motorcycle Club and the wealthiest, most dangerous man, sees Wynter as the perfect possession to settle Evilin's debt.

Trapped between her stepmother's cruelty and Kaden's dark obsession, Wynter must navigate a world of darkness and treachery. With her hidden strengths emerging, Wynter's journey becomes a perilous dance between love and survival.

Will Wynter be forever entwined in Kaden's deadly embrace? Or will Evilin finally destroy the fairest of them all? This dark, twisted, modern retelling of Snow White weaves a tale of unraveling secrets and danger looming at every turn, pushing Wynter and Kaden to navigate a treacherous path of love, betrayal, and survival.

Their undeniable romance becomes a beacon of hope in a world where trust is a luxury and love can be deadly.

This is a grippingly dark retelling of Snow White that takes the familiar fairy tale and turns it into something dangerous, obsessive and completely unpredictable.

Wynter was the character who really pulled me into the story. She begins as someone who has spent her life living in the shadow of her disturbing stepmother, but as the story develops, you start to see a much stronger and more determined side to her. Kaden, on the other hand, is exactly the kind of morally grey character you expect from a dark motorcycle club romance — powerful, possessive, intimidating and definitely not your traditional Prince Charming.

I really enjoyed the clever Snow White references woven throughout the story, particularly the mirrors, the wicked stepmother and the darker interpretation of the prince. It gives the book a familiar fairy-tale feel while still allowing the story to stand on its own.

The audiobook format worked particularly well because the atmosphere is such a big part of the story. There is a constant feeling that something dangerous is waiting around the corner, and the narration helped bring out that tension and intensity.

This certainly isn't a sweet fairy-tale romance. It's dark, obsessive and full of betrayal, danger and complicated characters. If you enjoy twisted fairy-tale retellings, morally grey men and darker MC romances with plenty of suspense, this is well worth a listen.

I wasn't quite sure what to expect from a Snow White retelling involving an Alaskan setting and a motorcycle club, but somehow the combination worked. I liked recognizing pieces of the original fairy tale while watching them get turned into something much darker and definitely more adult.

Wynter was easy to root for, especially as she begins discovering that she isn't as powerless as the people around her seem to think. Kaden is intense, possessive, and certainly not anyone's traditional Prince Charming, which fits perfectly with the darker direction of the story. Their relationship has that dangerous push and pull that keeps you wondering whether you should be rooting for them or telling Wynter to run.

I also enjoyed the little twists on familiar Snow White elements, especially Evilin and her obsession with mirrors. Those connections were recognizable without making the story feel like it was simply retelling something I already knew.

Caleb Schroeder's narration fit the darker atmosphere well and kept me interested throughout the six and a half hours. Overall, this was a fun, dark listen with romance, danger, obsession, and just enough of the original fairy tale underneath it all. I'm curious to see which fairy tale gets twisted next in the series.
