Sadly the last one for now othe Merlin series has been outstanding. Story, characters, plot all of the highest standards. Matt Addis narration the best on audible.

Superb as always!

I do hope that Mark Ellis writes more of these, and that Matt Addis reads them. They are the perfect combination. I need to know what happens next with Frank Merlin and his team, and I really need to see the US military police put in their place! The whole series has been gripping with fantastic plots and great writing. Please publish more.

Excellent, as always

Mark Ellis a total sadist and that’s all I can say without spoilers! Another great episode in the series though. I love that Merlin is basically a happy man doing a good job. No alcoholism or infidelity just professional. I love a flawed hero but sometimes a relatively unflawed one is a breath of fresh air.

A good man doing a good job in wartime.

An excellent book with an excellent reader. I have brought all of these books and found them all compelling listening. I do hope there will be some more of the same calibre.

Absolutely brilliant.

This book isn't for the impatient, it is very long at over 12 hours and quite slowly paced. But having said that it is an engrossing listen.
I loved the way that wartime London is so well evoked, the story and narration really make you feel as though you have travelled back in time to this period.
The plot is multi-layered and satisfying, if you are prepared to overlook the slow pace and the way that the different plot lines eventually come together.
The narration is excellent and I loved the way that the different characters are portrayed, it is easy to listen to as each character is distinct and easy to distinguish.
One of the best mystery audio books that I have listened to.
