About this listen

In the distant past, a time of magic and swordplay, there lived Harold, the mightiest lich of all, a master of arcane sciences, and a challenger of gods. After reaching the pinnacle of his power and finding it surprisingly bland, Harold waged a cataclysmic war against the gods, aiming to shatter the very system that confined him.

Then, he took a nap.

An incredibly long nap that ends with a jolt, thanks to an unwitting adventurer who trips into Harold's crypt. Blinking into the torchlight, Harold finds a world he barely recognizes. No more swords and sorcery, but a universe buzzing with cultivation, celestial sects, and far too many pretentious dialogues about the path to godhood.

Harold is no naïve cultivator. He's an ancient lich with a single ambition: to slide back into his uninterrupted eternal slumber. But the cacophony of quarreling sects and smug martial artists seems determined to keep him awake.

Undeterred, the sleep-deprived overlord is ready to confront this brave new world. After all, no aspiring deity, no grandiose sect, and certainly no self-righteous martial artist is going to rob him of his beauty sleep.

Absolutely amazing writing and story! Loved everything about it. The attention to detail and how everything works together is incredible. It's the little things that make elevate it to the next level! The puns had me giggling.

The narration is top notch! Another narrator that makes it to the top of my list! Soundbooth Theater fully delivers, as always.

Congrats to everybody involved! It was brilliant!

Can not wait for the next books.

Brilliant writing and narration!

This was an absolute delight to listen to. While the main character appears OP, this has no negative effect on the story. The main protagonist is quirky but extremely likeable as are the supporting characters. It's a comedy, it's light, it's the humour of good manners and humility balanced with extreme power to do practically anything but not wanting to because the experience of doing it the hard way is more interesting but also more fun.

An entertaining twist on the genre

All Narrators did a great Job, the Story could evolve more/ faster in the next Book. It starts somewhat slow.

There are always problems with a overpowered MC. But as in other Novels this can also be fun. I listend to the end, so I guess that means it is in total better than average. Maybe I pick the next book up, still on the Fence with this one.

Many of the Jokes from the MC had a "Dad Joke" feeling attached. Since he is some thousands year old - so might be his jokes. Some situations had some humor and references in it. I actually liked them more than the jokes.

Narration excellent, Story was okay

I've not listened to Ravensdagger before but very glad this was my first. I love stories where the character is already OP. That way its not about the grind for power but how that power is used. Which is why I compare it to the anime Overlord.

Loved the multiple narrators and the additional sound effects. The story was charming and at times a rib tickler! Sorry not sorry for the pun. Blame Harold.

Overlord with puns

Wasn’t sure what to expect when I started this but was immediately drawn into the story by the characters and the performances of the cast. I tried to take my time with it but ended up smashing through the story in a few days. Now I just have to wait for the next one.
Good job.

Great performance
