Summary

Bryn Halbrook had always seen the glow. But it is only when her best friend dies that she discovers the meaning of those beautiful golden auras - Death. Alone, lost in the foster system, she struggles to understand who she is and why she was cursed with the ability to see the soon-to-be-dead.

The new foster kid, Aidan, isn't helping any. Mr. Perfect seems to fit in no matter what, making her feel even more pathetic. But when his affections turn to her, Bryn finds him hard to resist. Impossible, actually. A mystery himself, Aidan disappears, leaving behind a broken heart and a mysterious book that suggests Bryn might not be entirely human.

Bryn stands at the threshold of a journey of discovery. Will destiny help her find herself, find her purpose and her place in a world in which she'd never belonged?

Good book but the narrator sucked.

Any additional comments?

The book is a good read but I had a problem getting into the story because of the narrator. She read each individual sentence with same inflection you would use for reading the title of the chapter (listen to the sample). After the first 2 chapters I couldn't take it anymore. Thank god for Whispersync. I switched to reading on my own and the story got a lot better. The whole Norse mythology made this a lot of fun. The heroine started out weak but later came into her own. I recommend this book but not the audio version.

A change of pace for paranormal

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes. The story itself was good but I think it took to long to actually get to the story. I understand how one must set the stage (sort a speak) but to shorten the beginning would have given us more to go on. I f she went back to actually set her original antagonists straight. The vice principle and the girl in her class. I would have understood.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Dead Radiance?

when she beat her feathered antagonist.

What about Hollie Jackson’s performance did you like?

Hollie was fantastic!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

The Birth of Wings.

Any additional comments?

Just that getting to the point of the story quicker. To set a foreground and not finish the resolve before moving on to the second part of the story.
