About this listen

Texas? Toast. Battered by five cataclysmic hurricanes in three weeks, the Texas Gulf Coast and half of the Lone Star State is reeling from the worst devastation in history. Thousands are dead or dying - but the worst is only beginning. Amid the wreckage, something unimaginable is happening: a deadly virus has broken out, returning the dead to life - with an insatiable hunger for human flesh. The nightmare begins....

Within hours, the plague has spread all over Texas. San Antonio police officer Eddie Hudson finds his city overrun by a voracious army of the living dead. Along with a small group of survivors, Eddie must fight off the savage horde in a race to save his family.

Hell on Earth. There's no place to run. No place to hide. The zombie horde is growing as the virus runs more rampant. Eddie knows he has to find a way to destroy these walking horrors... but he doesn't know the price he will have to pay.

Critic reviews

"A merciless, fast-paced and genuinely scary read that will leave you absolutely breathless." (Brian Keene)

I liked the tense nature of some of the scenes described. You believed in the main characters and shared in the emotional state of affairs. An enjoyable listen on the zombie apocalypse storyline.

Great characters

This was a great story, the narrator had a great voice. would definitely recommend this to anyone that likes zombies.

Although part of an over arching story, it's nice to have a stand alone from a different perspective. Good narration and script make it an easy 8hr listen

Worth a listen

Not bad for a free download but the main character is annoying and does some very silly things. It’s also a bit repetitive. The narrator’s voice is somewhat grating and he doesn’t always distinguish between characters.

I probably wouldn’t pay for another by this author, but might listen if it was free.

characters... Marcus was a waste if space, it seemed his character may go through some arch or his awful personality would lead somewhere but no, nothing. other characters were better written and probably deserved more time.

narrator ... numb, that's the only way to explain it. sometimes characters/accents got mixed up but mostly it was the completely flat delivery any time there was an exciting even or action piece taking place.

stoey ... started off interesting but by the end I realised that at least 70% of this story was pointless filler as the the main character ends up right at the begginging but for no other reason than "I guess I'll go here then", reason or logic as to why, so instead our "hero" and dead weight Marcus crash every vehicle they enter (i counted maybe 250 of them) and that's it... pretty much repeats the same thing over and over again

Deadly waste
