Summary
Lovely Sorcha is the seventh child and only daughter of Lord Colum of Sevenwaters. Bereft of a mother, she is comforted by her six brothers who love and protect her. Sorcha is the light in their lives, they are determined that she know only contentment. But Sorcha's joy is shattered when her father is bewitched by his new wife, an evil enchantress who binds her brothers with a terrible spell, a spell which only Sorcha can lift-by staying silent.
If she speaks before she completes the quest set to her by the Fair Folk and their queen, the Lady of the Forest, she will lose her brothers forever. When Sorcha is kidnapped by the enemies of Sevenwaters and taken to a foreign land, she is torn between the desire to save her beloved brothers, and a love that comes only once. fantastic story
The narrator takes a while to get used too, her accents are terrible and pronounces names wrong, however the story is amazing I was listening to this everyday. can't wait for my next credit to move on to the next book.

Spellbinding story-telling
Beautifully written, this story, the language, and the excellent narration draw you in to a dark fairytale and story of love. One of my all time favourite audible books

Daughter of the forest
This story has great depth and is meaningful with wonderful intense descriptions every step of the way. The narrator’s rich voice with each character changes keeping you wanting to hear more and more. Congratulations for Story telling at its best.

This story
I loved this book, I think that it has an amazing storyline, and I think that the main protagonist is a perfect match for Red. Once I started, I could not sleep until I finished this book, and once I did, I was really upset that there was no more. Sometimes, I felt as if I was Surraha (Sorry if that is spelt wrong, just tell me). However, sometimes I felt like shaking her and saying OMG YOU R STUPID GET A GRIP
Going on to the person actually reading the story to us, I feel like she's upset about something I mean like she's not terrible but maybe she should get a grip before reading this story or maybe she feels like she relates to the story? I don't know. Overall, this book is a must-read!

Harrowing at times but in the end very rewarding
Steeped deeply in Irish myth and folklore, the book is also a retelling of the six swans fairy tale.
As always, Juliet Marillier dazzles with her representation of the uncanny, the subconscious, the unconscious and weaves it into a harsh but in the end rewarding tale of a family being torn apart where the sister and her six brothers have got to find if they have it in and amongst themselves to mend what has been broken by others.
The audiobook is very well done and very well narrated. It was a joy to listen to this narration from beginning to end.

Daughter of my heart
Would you listen to Daughter of the Forest again? Why?
Yes, most definitely. I absolutely loved this book. It was beautifully written. Not my usual genre but I was captivated from start to finish and found myself wholly invested in the characters. It's a long book but I still wanted more.
What other book might you compare Daughter of the Forest to, and why?
I haven't read a book like this before.
What about Terry Donnelly’s performance did you like?
The narrator was very good and I would listen to her again.
Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I laughed, cried, and basically lived on my nerves throughout this book I was that invested in the characters.

Absolutely loved this book and was looking forward to the second book in the series, but having listened to the preview of the second book, I won't be able to as I didn't like the narrator.

Old tale retold.
The plot is a story I knew but at no point did I feel it was pointless to continue listening. The settings are vividly described and the characters come to life, drawing you into their world.

An Amazing Tale
Absolutely loved it. Beautifully written. The narrator was spot on in terms of performance. It brought me to tears a few times. I cannot recommend it enough. Evocative writing.
