About this listen

Thrown in a cage and stripped of my dignity, I was auctioned to the highest bidder, but I never imagined that I'd end my night in the home of Killian DeLorenzo—head of the Romanian Mafia and the most powerful man in the country.

To know him is to fear him, and I just became his newest possession.

Pleasing him comes easily, but what I didn't expect was the effect he would have on my heart.

This world is no place for a girl like me, and navigating it might just kill me quicker than he ever could. I know I should run, but his vile, wicked ways are a temptation no woman could possibly resist. So I must rise to the occasion—prove once and for all that I have what it takes.

Or die trying.

Ciara is weak and pathetic and allows his family members to beat her up and walk all over her. She chooses not to speak up because she doesn’t want anyone hurt. The cousin sexually assaulted her and then she did nothing when his wife beat her up. I can’t be dealing with books like this. She isn’t fit to stand by Killian's side and makes him look weak through her fear of not seeking justice.

This kind of story has been done so many times and I can't stand weak female leads.

Pathetic storyline

This has been a roller coaster ride of a book. Well written, engaging narrators and the story, well it was dark on many levels but in the end (or all the way) captivating and just brilliant.

Darkness, but in a good way.
