Summary

E L James revisits the world of Fifty Shades with a deeper and darker take on the love story that has enthralled millions of fans around the globe.

Their scorching, sensual affair ended in heartbreak and recrimination, but Christian Grey cannot get Anastasia Steele out of his mind or his blood. Determined to win her back, he tries to suppress his darkest desires and his need for complete control and to love Ana on her own terms.

But the horrors of his childhood still haunt him, and Ana's scheming boss, Jack Hyde, clearly wants her for himself. Can Christian's confidant and therapist, Dr. Flynn, help him face down his demons? Or will the possessiveness of Elena, his seducer, and the deranged devotion of Leila, his former submissive, drag Christian down into the past?

And if Christian does win Ana back, can a man so dark and damaged ever hope to keep her?

DISAPPOINTING

Felt like i had read it before. Did not find out much i didnt already know from the first book. Really feel she should have stopped at tge trilogy, this feeks like a rip off to her readers. Zacchery Webber did a good job narating though.

wasn't what I expected.

I was very excited for this. It started well and Zachary overall was very good. however, the story seemed a bit rushed and despite its good start, got really boring.

saying that, i love the fifty shades books and still hope for fifty shades freed in Christians pov next year.

I enjoyed this

I know there has been so much written about this series of books but I have to say that I enjoyed this version from Christians perspective. It gives you a totally different angle on the story and the way he thinks. Brilliant narrations too.

Easy listen...

Love the fifty shade series or not...it's interesting to hear the story from the male point of view.

Good narration and engaging enough to keep me interested during 4 very long car journeys.

Would recommend.

better than the first

the 2nd book has more action and character depth, less repetition, however, when repetitions occur it is still annoying

Not good

Not much else to add .... apart from ironically wanting to slap them both ( principal characters) and not for pleasure .

Everything's perfect except

It's my first time listening to an audiobook and I was wondering if Anna's voice could actually be replaced with an actual girl's voice because while I was listening this whole time, whenever Anna's talking, it feels like Christian is talking to a man and it's so hilarious to me. Nothing wrong with it, just made some intense scene a little funnier than intended. Overall, the storyline is great. Highly recommended!

Thoroughly enjoyed

Of course the Trilogy in itself is so good but I also love getting the other side to a story and Christian’s versions fill in all the gaps. Being able to get into his thoughts, his dreams and his emotions helps you feel when and why he found his way to light of love. I really enjoy Zachary Webber’s reading, he really allows us to feel the characters like a movie in our ears, his sounds of ooos and ahhs doesn’t seem awkward and puts you right there in each moment.

?????

Seriously I feel robbed, I’m sure my review will be disliked by many but let’s be real for a moment.
Grey was a book released as told by Christian, this was pretty much the same with a touch more storyline into other relationships in his life eg: his personal assistant, trainer
(I MEAN COME ON).
And if that isn’t a slap in the face for fans of FSOG it ends at the proposal, 17hrs and it just end at that.
His view on the kidnaping and married life, the birth of his child would have been wonderful inclusions in this book. But come to think of it that was in the book Grey.
I’m a massive fan of this series, I’ve read all the books and own all the audiobooks and have watched both the movies released so far, and I’ll be going to see the next one when released.
So this was very difficult for me to write, but if your going to leave a review it must be an honest review.
As far as the narrative goes loved it, I think the voice of the grandfather is one of my favorites.
Well rounded performance by Zachary Webber
