Summary
Who killed Gray Mitchell?
Gray Mitchell’s body is found buried under fresh snowfall in the early hours of the morning outside Stromford Cathedral. DI Jim Neal and DS Ava Merry are called in to investigate. It seems that a number of people had motives to kill him, including Mitchell's partner.
Then another shocking act of violence occurs, also connected to the cathedral. Detectives Neal and Merry’s investigation reveals an intricate web of secrets connecting the crimes. But there is something the detectives have missed, the dark secret which can break open the case.
In a breathtaking climax, Jim Neal fights for the life of someone very close to him.

Great discovery

The different twists and turns

Most enjoyable
I so enjoy the characters in the book. The developing partnership of the DI and his sergeant, and characters personal to each of them. The storyline keeps a good pace and is clever, keeping one guessing. I’m looking forward to reading the next in the series.

Good plot
This is read rather than performed. I don’t think it is the best narrator for this book. The story is good, although as in the first book I find some of the actions that the police have taken are rather dubious. But it’s a work of fiction and not a documentary so it makes for plot points.
