Excellent listening

The reader was very good and I enjoyed how the story is based loosely on historical events.

Loved it

How annoying that the review needs a minimum of fifteen words. Loved the book though.

Just gets better

I read the softback version as a teenager, yet listening to the 19hrs plus of the audio version has me amazed. The creativity and ingenuity of this author has not only stood the rest of time, it has increased. It's been a true joy to listen to this book.

Fantastic story line

Before I purchased this title I was slightly concerned by the reviews relating to the narrator but I thought that Peter did a fantastic job. Don’t forget that you often find that you need to adjust from your previous narrator and this transition takes a while to settle. The story line just simply fantastic as the yarn moved from boy to man and from one world to different dimensions. I was disappointed when I noticed the remaining time was reduced to the last hour or so,
but when the story came to an end it lifted my spirits to what was quite a crappy day!! Audible - you often assist with the necessity of distressing before reaching home. My wife thanks you 😂

I love this series

I preferred the first book as being a little less fantastical, but it's a lovely romp through Greek history. the battles are great and I bought into the characters.

a great story gone wrong..

Maybe this was me misunderstanding what the series was about. book 1 seemed to be historical fiction with a little artistic license thrown in. Book 2 is a fairy tale. I picked up these books to learn a little, and instead had to read a bunch of hocum about beasts talking to myths. Disappointing.

Missing ending!

Seems to be a glitch where a chapter is repeated but the end is missing. Very disappointed
