Story
As a massive storm batters the Scottish coast, Gordon Smith’s home is falling into the North Sea. But the crumbling headland has revealed what he’s got buried in his garden: human remains. With the storm still raging, it’s too dangerous to retrieve the bodies, and waves are devouring the evidence. Which means no one knows how many people Smith’s already killed and how many more he’ll kill if he can’t be stopped. The media are baying for blood, the top brass are after a scapegoat and ex-Detective Inspector Ash Henderson is done playing nice.

Fran finds her standing by the swings. A little girl, Esther, no older than seven years old, by herself in the dead of night, her pretty but old-fashioned yellow dress covered in grass stains and her hair dishevelled. She says she's waiting for Father, and that strikes Fran as particularly odd. After Esther is reunited with her family, Fran can't stop thinking about this pious child whose imaginary friend is God. Fran's instincts tell her something is very wrong. Why does Esther keep running away from home, and how did she get that bruise on her leg?

Disappointed
I was attracted to the book by the inclusion of L J Ross as one of the authors, indeed an author my family and I enjoy greatly. The added attraction of supporting charity made it an easy buy.
It was, however, a sad disappointment with bitty stories, many without plots or endings and few ‘real stories’. There were perhaps half a dozen which were worth the effort of listening to, including L J Ross I am pleased to say.
Well done to all the authors for their charitable work but other than for this reason poor value for money.
