Summary

Watch out for the Assassin’s Claws...but be even more aware of the Ninja Bunnies!

Dan Moreno is a paid killer, just like his four brothers. It’s the family business - they fight together, they die together. Whether they’re working as a group or alone, they are a tight unit who protect their own. The only fly in their ointment? The neighboring Blythe brood of ninja bunnies who steal their jobs and show them up on the regular.

After years of in-fighting, the Moreno and Blythe families have found a tentative peace and mutual respect after working together to bring down a group intent on revealing the existence of shifters to the world. Mostly...except for the two opposing members who haven’t found a way to coexist. And the chances aren’t great that they ever will.

Twenty-three years ago, Dan scented his true mate in Gil Blythe. After irritating the sassy bunny beyond redemption, Dan had no choice but to walk away and ignore the other half of his soul. Until now. Forced together for one more joint mission, Gil and Dan’s secret is out and both of their families are calling them idiots.

Can two equally proud and stubborn men put the past behind them and give each other a second chance to finally forge a bond that will unite them for all time?

This fifth and final book in the Assassin’s Claws series is about 33k in length. Note: While every book in this series didn’t contain mpreg, this one makes up for it! This book contains a secret magic island, a council made of mythical creatures, and a birth scene that has to be seen to be believed. Get ready for naughty-knotty fun and low-ball humor as only Susi Hawke can provide.

Dance Around

I love this series so much! They are a great couple, and I was left with a satisfied sigh. Susi Hawke knows how to give a punch without going overboard. Zane Daniels did fabulously with the narration. I'm still smiling.

Great series conclusion

Finally, our Romeo and Romeo tale comes to its conclusion with fortunately no deaths of either of the main romantic pair and the warring families reconciled. This reminds me somewhat of Fraught in Hawke's Alphabits series and Family Ties in her Family Novak series in all the best ways and if you enjoyed either of those, you will love this one too. We have two strong characters unwilling initially to bend in any way and form their inevitable bond. In working together to accomplish certain goals, however, they come to appreciate each other and get their HEA with their fated mate. I won't spoil any of the plot, just trust Susi Hawke as always and settle in for an action filled ride with a super hot romance. Zane Daniels gives a wonderful performance that highlights the stubbornness of these guys without making them unlikeable and when they do get together you totally understand it. He also brings all the heat!

Loved this one

I really enjoyed this story. And the narration was excellent. Zane is a newer narrator and he’s definitely doing a fabulous job! Looking forward to move from him. Suzi is fabulous as always and I’m also looking forward to more from her as well.

The end to a hilarious series, I loved them all.

The end to a hilarious series, I loved them all.

We meet the Moreno brothers again, a notorious band of Assassins. Dan Moreno met his true mate 23 years ago and messed up completely. That true mate is Gil Blythe, the head of the Ninja Bunnies, those with English accents and giant pink balls. Yep that Gil Blythe from the rival assassins that they have been working with.

No matter what Dan Moreno does, he riles up Gil every time he opens his mouth, and he somehow talks down to Gil.

Will they ever get together? This book again is hilarious. If you don't like MPREG, then turn away now. There's a lot of babies popping out in this one.

This book is a brilliant ending to such a great series. Actually, I haven't personally read a bad book by Susi, such an incredible writer. I would recommend this series to everyone who likes Shifter books.
This audiobook contains killer cats, ninja bunnies, and an alpha who speaks down to his omega when all he wants to do is talk to him and love him, but that's not what comes out. Get ready for naughty-knotty fun, and low-ball humour as only Susi Hawke can provide.

Excellent narration by Zane Daniels, especially with a naked English ninja bunny with massive balls; try getting that picture out of your mind.

When Gil goes into heat, Dan steps up only to recieve the silent treatment until 1 month later when Gil turns up ready to deliver their babies. Now i know where breed like bunnies comes from. Brilliantly written and narrated

Communication is key

Dan and Gill are totally cute. I loved how stubborn both men are. They are a perfect example of how miscommunication can really screw up a relationship. While they both were frustrating at times with not wanting to or just really not listening to the other carefully, they proved that they did love each other. Listening to the families come together at the end was beautiful.

Wonderful way to finish a series!

Out of everything written by Ms Hawke, this series is one of the most funny and interesting of all of them. Every book features a Moreno Brother getting their forever and believe me, each book is more fantastic, chaotic and hilarious than the previous one. Now, in this final book in the series, Gil and Dan' s story is an example of how miscommunication and misunderstandings combine with arrogance could be disastrous for fated mates. This book caused me stress and frustrated me so much that I couldn't stop reading until I knew everything was going to be fine. And, of course, until I knew more than I wanted to know about the ninja bunnies. Mr Daniels again was perfect reading this book, with his amazing acting skills, charismatic voice and agile management of the action. A perfect narration, a perfect book and the perfect way to end a series...Loved It!

Need More!!!

So sad this is the last book/audiobook of the series 😩

As usual, just brilliant 🤩

The way this audiobook ends, has the story ‘open ended’, as in there has to be more to come - this leaves the reader/listener wanting more! 😩

Zane Daniels does another great job - leaves me wondering where he’s from, as his British accent just sounds so natural 🥰

Hopefully won’t have to wait forever 🤞

Definitely a great series!

Super

Another great addition to the series by Susi Hawk, love the series. Dan and Gil where fun and interesting characters and they have an awesome journey to their HEA. Zane Daniels did a super job with the narration. Great pairing, author and narrator should be followed.

Ninja Bunnies

I’ve really enjoyed this series and am glad it wrapped up so nicely. I adored Gil. The Ninja Bunny has been fighting on the side of right for many years. He and his family have been in competition with the Morenos for many of those years. Now it’s time for the two families to find a way to co-exist. A way to continue to fight for injustice. A way to protect the existence of shifters.

Then there’s Dan. When I found out what he’d done to piss Gil off, I was a little irritated with him myself. I totally could see Gil’s point of view. But here’s the thing about fated mates – you can fight all you want, but eventually you’re going to be ensnared. Such is what happens to the two shifters, and by far the funniest birth scene I’ve ever witnessed. Or listened to. Or...you know what I mean.

The families form an alliance, the shifter world will remain hidden and safe, and these two get their happily ever after. All wrapped up in a perfect package. A nice series that tied up all the loose ends. And narrating this story is Zane Daniels. I will say he did a great job with the multitude of voices (the Morenos alone are quite a brood). I intend to look out for more books narrated by him and, of course, more Susi Hawke mpreg books.
