Daley Buzz

Oh man, this town went from peaceful and quiet to a Murrer around every corner. I don’t know what’s in the water there but I don’t think I want any! This series is so fun to listen to and the characters are so smart and witty. I loved listening to this and will be looking for more of these books.

Eight Interesting And Well Written Short Stories.

These eight short mystery stories really are well written and narrated. Each is set in the coastal town of Treasure Cove and feature Sabrina, the amateur sleuth, and her police detective partner. The standalone stories require a mysterious death being resolved, despite many twists and turns and the guilty brought to justice. The characters are all fully formed and locations well described. These are light reading but do keep the listener suitably intrigued throughout.

Daily Book fill

Sabrina Daley is our leading lady in the Daley Buzz mystery series. This collection is perfect for the car. Each book is a new case and each book offers different comfort food. 8 books in one package. Lisa Beacom has an engaging narrative voice. Sabrina has her own mystery she wants to solve. Her sister went missing years ago and the case is cold. When Sabrina goes to see a psychic she offers a glimpse of hope. Unfortunately, her new luck is short-lived. Sabrina is at the heart of the case and one thing leads to another. Now Sabrina Daley becomes a Cozy mystery star in this collection of murders in her home town.

The evidence in these cases points to confessions. Sabrina and her police officer boyfriend help us navigate a town of mystery. Bad feelings can lead to murder. Secrets are a way to find enemies. Everyone doesn't want their dirty laundry out in the open.

This is an enjoyable series. Each story is different from the previous. Recommended for a light-hearted car listen.

ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Really Poor!

1. This is a Poor Collection of Stories.
2. This has a really Poor Narrator.
3. This has No Depth to it.

Even for a Cozy novel, this is such a Poor Series. There are far more satisfying tales, don’t waste your money or credits on it.

Awesome Bundle of 8!

Daley Buzz Cozy Mystery Series is a great bundle of listens! This is an incredible value getting so many (8) books in one set. Meredith Potts has created a wonderful character of Sabrina Daley that appears in each story. She is a modern day sleuth that has a panache for solving crimes. Each book is a quick cozy listen and is standalone. Lisa Beacom is magical bringing the characters to life. She adds the right emotions that add to my enjoyment. I will definitely listen to more books by this author and narrator.

Ok stories, stilted dialog

The stories are ok but get to the point where they are too much alike. They are alike because the dialogue, which is at times quite stilted, could often be from any of the books.
The main character reminds me of overhearing the neighbours gossip, and she is the nosy neighbour who feels the need to know everything. Her significant other has an annoying habit of repeating the same lines over and over, and I don't mean reading anyone their rights. Her mother seems to treat her like she is a child.
The mysteries themselves are quite interesting and work fairly well, but in a supposedly small town the way they interview people would not help them keep many friends.
The narrator works hard to try to make some of the dialogue interesting.
As you go through the different stories they do seem to be evolving and this is very promising for further books.
Overall I would describe these as reasonable but not inspiring.

Naive and adolescent

The narrator did well with what she had to work with. Don't waste your credit.

Don't waste your time or money!

The writing is sophomoric at best. He said, she said... The boyfriend is annoying. He tells her what to do. What police force allows a girlfriend to ride along with the boyfriend? The first one had me. thinking there was going to be a plat twist when out of no where, the killer confessed. Absolutely horrible. My 7th graders could write just as well. It was almost as though I was listening to their stories. The performance may have been better if she had something better to work with.

8 Delightful Mysteries

Sabrina Daley runs a coffee shop with her mom and grandmother. On the side, she solves murders with her detective boyfriend David. These 8 books run through her relationship with David til he asks her to marry him. Each mystery is fun, and unlike a lot of Cozy Mysteries, Sabrina is not relationship challenged. Each of Sabrina's mysteries, I got to know more about Sabrina, and she always was careful and didn't do foolish things. Sabrina is a woman that I loved getting to know. The narrator does an excellent job with the voices and makes it easy to get into the story.

Another enjoyable listen

I enjoyed listening to this box set as much as I liked listening to the Mysteries of Treasure Cove box set. I wish I would of listened to this one first since they are related and these stories came first. You don't have to read or listen to them in order though to enjoy this author and her characters. I enjoyed listening to the narrator as well. I would recommend both to other readers and audio listeners.

Fabulous

Loved it all, there were a few repeats but enjoyed listening to it all the way through.
The characters were fun to get know and all the things that happened to them.
Go out grab yourself a copy of the series and sit down, lay down, do audiable or how ever you want to have fun figuring out who did what and why in each book

Sweets With A Side Of Murder

Standard fare in this series. Ms. Daley follows her police detective boyfriend around and helps solve murders. Unbelievably she interviews suspects, expects and gets the police to give her free access to confidential reports, and monitors the detective's location at all times. A nice break from standard police procedurals, but predictable and at times tiresome. I was gifted this from the author.

What a ride!

Oh, so many hours to enjoy these stories!

Caramel with a Side of Murder
I love this second book as much as I loved the first. One of the things I most enjoyed is how it takes back those threads pointed at in the first book (Daley's sister disappearance, the all-men secret? club) and keeps hinting at it, without revealing anything. Just the acknowledgement that those things are still there.

Apple Pie with a Side of Murder
Here we get a resolution about the mystery of the lights in Watersport's place, but the one about the secret society? That one only thickens. And there aren't new leads on Sabrina's sister, which is a shame :(
Sabrina and her police boyfriend investigate yet another murder in the once peaceful town, and I'm wondering: is that secret society somehow related to this escalate on violence? I guess we'll have to wait until the next book (at least!) to know.

Lemon Bars with a Side of Murder
I keep enjoying this series. This time the victim is that shady hypnotherapist whom we know from previous books, and the investigation will lead us to uncover what's really going on with that secret society... finally! *laughs*
As always, Sabrina and David are a delight, and, as with the other books by this author, this is a clean, lovely cosy that would appeal to the fans of the genre.

Cookies with a Side of Murder
In the last book, we discovered what was going on with the secret society, and now we finally get to know what really happened to Jessica.
This book is a heartbreaker, because yes, after eleven years we are aware that chances are Sabrina's sister is dead. But facing that fact isn't the same that a suspicion.
This is a truly emotional story and the narration helps to this feeling. This is, OMHO, the best book in the series, and even through the sadness that permeates it, there is a hopeful note at the end. Sabrina has got her closure, and now she can go forward with her life.

Halloween Candy with a Side of Murder
The only complaint I have about the books in this series is how hungry for cookies they make me :P
This is another lovely book, easy to read and very entertaining, particularly recommended for those who enjoy a clean, cosy mystery.

Christmas Cookies with a Side of Murder
Such an involving mystery! It's Christmas season and Sabrina's friend Julie is missing, which brings her back the memories of her own sister. But soon, the body of her friend is discovered and she and David are now investigating a murder case.
Talk about small towns! The main suspect is Julie's boyfriend... who is Sabrina's ex :P And I must say there is something here I didn't saw coming. I won't spoil it, but once you read/listen the book, you immediately know what I'm talking about.:)

Gelato with a Side of Murder
I must say when this book started with David inviting Sabrina to have dinner in a fancy restaurant my expectations couldn't be farthest than they witnessing a reckoning being brought on Jake Williamson!
And that's not even the case Sabrina is investigating! The real case is Delilah's murder, and it's a tough one. Who would want to kill the nice psychic lady? Apparently, many more people than they thought at first.

Chocolate Cake with a Side of Murder
Oh, the mystery here was fantastic! And Sabrina really had a tough time with this one!
And oh! you're for a lovely surprise at the end of this book! :D

Lisa Beacom does an amazong job narrating all of these :D
