Das hatte er sich anders vorgestellt: Harry Svensson, Exreporter einer Stockholmer Zeitung und angehender Kneipenwirt, hat sich in Malmö mit einer Weinhändlerin verabredet - doch aus der gemeinsamen Nacht wird nichts. Ulrika Palmgren überlegt es sich im letzten Moment anders und setzt ihn vor die Tür. Statt speziellen Sex gibt's ein lädiertes Ego und eine gebrochene Nase. Als er notdürftig verarztet in sein Hotel zurückkehrt, entdeckt er im Nachbarzimmer, dessen Tür lediglich angelehnt ist, den bekannten Blues-Sänger Tommy Sandell, der seinen Rausch ausschläft - neben ihm die Leiche einer Frau. Die Ermittlungen der Polizei in dem Mordfall wollen nicht so recht vorankommen. Nur eins ist sicher: der Musiker war es nicht. Svensson betreibt derweil seine eigenen Recherchen. Als es wenig später in Göteborg zu einem ähnlichen Fall kommt, ist Harry Svensson sich sicher, dass man es mit einem Serienmörder zu tun hat...
