Özet

DCI Morgan confronts a personal crisis when retirement looms. Meanwhile, crime doesn’t stop. The discovery of a body, found with a fish in his mouth, sparks a murder hunt.

In this, the fourth of J. J. Kennard’s short murder mysteries, Morgan feels he should be on the case, but his chief has other ideas. Sent to solve a crime from the property of Lady Reeve, a jaded and reluctant Morgan gets his last chance to do some police work whilst learning how the other half lives.

The fourth book in the Short Read Murder Mysteries series. Each book centres on a particular character from the same police department of the 1970's. The man in charge of this police department, DCI Morgan, is in fear of losing his job and depressed. Then he is ordered to take on a case for friend of his boss.

The story is well written but I had hoped for more development of a budding relationship in the story. Maybe that will come in a future book, which I hope may be in the making. I'd be very interested in seeing this series of quick reads develop and look forward to more.

I was given this review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review.

Short but satisfying

Another great book (the last?) I really enjoy these books they are perfect in length and the narration is superb. I hope that the author continues with both sides? (Trying not to spoil the book) if you’ve heard it you can probably guess what I mean if you haven’t then listen to it!!!!!
I’d love to hear if the author decides to do this or not?

Thanks for reading

Hopefully not the final book??
