About this listen

Spensa's life as a Defiant Defense Force pilot has been far from ordinary.

She proved herself one of the best starfighters in the human enclave of Detritus and she saved her people from extermination at the hands of the Krell - the enigmatic alien species that has been holding them captive for decades. What's more, she travelled light-years from home as a spy to infiltrate the Superiority, where she learned of the galaxy beyond her small, desolate planet home. Now, the Superiority - the governing galactic alliance bent on dominating all human life - has started a galaxy-wide war. And Spensa has seen the weapons they plan to use to end it: the Delvers. Ancient, mysterious alien forces that can wipe out entire planetary systems in an instant.

Spensa knows that no matter how many pilots the DDF has, there is no defeating this predator.

Except that Spensa is Cytonic. She faced down a Delver and saw something eerily familiar about it. And maybe, if she's able to figure out what she is, she could be more than just another pilot in this unfolding war. She could save the galaxy. The only way she can discover what she really is, though, is to leave behind all she knows and enter the Nowhere. A place from which few ever return.

To have courage means facing fear. And this mission is terrifying.

I had to ration this scudding book and my only regret is that I now have to wait years for the next one.

More ... I need more

Great story telling from Brandon with great narration from Sophie Aldred to go with it.

The only issue is how long do we have to wait for the next book?

Another wonderful Brandon Sanderson book.

Spensa, DoomSlug and M-bot are back and the wait has been too long. This third installment doesn't dissapoint. Spensa learns how to be cytonic, M-bot learns to become self aware and DoomSlug, well, that's enough of a spoiler right there...
The fight against the Delvers becomes more intense and will she make it back home to Detritus and Yurgen? Tune in and switch off the rest of the world. Bring on number four I say!

So, SO good!

I felt like watching one of those Netflix movies with great start but poor ending. The twists in this book are expectable and not "tasty" at all. Also, I dislike when the main character encounters an obstacle and realises that the solution was with them all along. Doing this once is acceptable but it gets more and more irritating when repeated. I loved the narrator though, she did an amazing job.

Unsatisfying end

Another incredible follow up full of courage, excitement and a little heartbreak. looking forward to book 4
