Summary
We were just kids when we met....
He was the boy from down the beach.
I was the transplant from Tennessee.
He became my best friend.
I became his best girl.
And then...it became us.
We shared things...our dreams, our secrets...first kisses and then our hearts.
Seth Drake was my everything. My first crush. My first love. My forever passion. Until that day when everything changed through no fault of ours.
I was crushed. We were crushed.

Compelling story
This is a FANTASTIC start to what will be an Epic romance between Neely Evans and Seth Drake.
It starts from the beginning and they are teenagers Neely is 14 and Seth is 15,they become firm friends from the day they meet...When Neely moves to California with her parents.
But life in California does not go well for Neely's family when her parents marriage falls apart and her mother turns to alcohol to cope.
Although her relationship with Seth is moving forward and they become a boyfriend and girlfriend..Seth wants to be an actor like his mum and Neely wants to be an artist.
But eventually their relationship comes to an end when Neely goes back to Tennessee with her Mother.Their love is so sweet and innocent at first,Seth is Neely's lifeline in some ways.
I felt so bad for Neely dealing with her mother's alcoholism at such a young age,her mother is very controlling and manipulative with Neely and holds her back in life.
I really enjoyed listening to this audiobook which is wonderfully narrated by Rachelle Williams and Alexander Cendese..who both portray these characters perfectly...they made listening to this book a pleasure and their voice acting skills were brilliant.
Andrea Smith has written a very compelling story of young love and the struggles of a young girl coping with her parents divorce, her mother's drinking problem and Seth's friendship that turns to love.
I loved Andrea's writing style and I easily became enthralled by Neely and Seth's story..this is a short book with plenty of drama and intrigue.
I can't wait to see what happens next I expect the angst will get turned up a notch.
Loved this Audiobook.
Excellent.

I loved the narration Rachelle Williams
Neely has been used to her parents thinking of her. Neely's father is away for business or affairs and her mother drinks herself into oblivion.
Seth was her best friend, her first love. Neely, had to grow up fast and is wise beyond her years. When she has to move back to Tennessee, with her mother. Will Neely and Seth survive a long distance relationship. This book full of teenage angst, family drama , with flashbacks between past and present.

First love - great narration!
I really liked the beginning of Neely and Setha's story. I loved Neely, who is trying to find a way for herself after the separation of her parents. She has a crush on her childhood friend Seth, but it's not always easy.
The story about first love is beautifully written.
Rachelle Williams has brought the story to life with her pleasant voice and appropriate emotions. She did a fantastic job, as did Alexander Candese.
And now I really want to know what happens next with Neely and Seth!

A great start!
I felt so sad for Neely throughout this story as she has such a difficult home life and it gets totally ignored by the people around her. Her friendship with Seth is really sweet and I hope things improve for them both in the next instalment!
I really liked the narration of this book. The characters are all performed very well and it made easy listening.

Draws you right in!
This is the kind of story I love! Andrea Smith has started a series that is already tugging at my heart and rooting for a couple! Neely and Seth are in love. That real young love that you feel when you are in high school, the kind you want to last forever. But circumstances pull them apart for several years and now Neely is back. Her life is in shambles and she is trying to pull it all back together. They have grown apart, but is the love still there? I am in love with this story. Neely is fascinating. Young, yet so mature due to her situation, she has endured more than she should ever have to in her young life. Seth is growing up, following his passion and now we have to see where this will lead the two of them. With fantastic secondary characters, I can't wait so see where they will all fit in and where it will lead. Rachelle Williams brings it all alive with a marvelous narration. On to book 2,

Beautiful
I love love loved this. Seeing the characters trying to build something for themselves whilst Neely is also trying to deal with the emotional and physical harm that comes with having an abusive parent. This has been beautifully written and will definitely tug at the heart strings.
The narrator was also such a fantastic choice she managed to capture the characters perfectly. I can’t wait to jump into the next book as this was beautiful.

The start of the story of Neely an Seth... This first installment left me with a hurt heart.... Urghhh
I really rooted for Neely, her life really didn't pan out the way she hoped.
The narration was absolutely spot on. Rachelle Williams had a smooth, melodic tone that kept me captivated!

Life is what you make it
I have a feeling that "Life is what you make it" will be an applicable headline for the reviews on most of the books in this series - but we'll see. This is the first in Andrea Smith's new series Evermore and what a way to start. The characters - Neely and Seth will simultaneously warm your heart and break it all at the same time. Neely's home life leaves much to be desired, as a 14 year old she is mature beyond her years. Seth obviously sees something in her and gradually moves from friend to boyfriend role. Will the constant pull Neely has to be the daughter she should out weigh the life she should live for herself?
This read / listen is on the shorter side and dives deep into these characters and leaves you eager for more. I can't wait to get started on Claimed (book 2) to see where their lives will take them.
While I absolutely loved this read - the only thing that threw me is the back and forth between the past and current...it was hard for me to follow the time line at times. Also, I loved the narration but I think a dual male / female narration would be good on this read also.
This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.
