Here, little princess. I'm your king.

You have three rules. Bow. Break. Bend the knee.

Fight me all you want, but soon enough, you'll be chanting long live the king.

Astrid

One day I'm Royal Elite School's small fly, the next I'm hunted and left to die.

He doesn't only shred my life to parts, but he's also coming after my heart.

He thinks he broke me, but the new princess will bring the king to his knees.

It wasn't wow, but I didn't suffer either if you understand what I mean. There were things that bothered me, but I did smile and laugh here and there through the story line.
Maybe if I read it at the beginning when I started reading romance books I'd definitely give it a 5 🌟
I Continue to the next book in the series, I'll update about it soon ❤️

Well, it was okay, not perfect but not bad

Cruel King absolutely proves that I will eat up a messy, dramatic, emotionally constipated rich boy every single time. Yes, it’s technically a high school setting… but let’s be honest, these are not your average teenagers. The wealth, the power plays, the emotional damage? They’re giving early twenties chaos and I am here for it.

Levi and Astrid are the definition of your trauma is my favourite trope. Two broken people circling each other, both clearly obsessed, both refusing to be the first to properly admit it. The tension isn’t just romantic — it’s emotional chicken. Who’s going to crack first? Who’s going to risk vulnerability? Watching them fight their feelings while being completely consumed by them was deliciously frustrating. I wanted to shake them… and also kiss their foreheads.

Levi especially? Down horrendous. Possessive, damaged, trying to act cold while clearly spiralling for her. I love a man who thinks he’s in control but is absolutely gone.

The spice hits. It’s intense, charged, and fits the emotional volatility of their relationship perfectly. And the drama? Elite. Petty, dramatic, over-the-top in the best way — exactly what you want from this kind of world.

You can definitely feel that this was written after the rest of the series — the tone feels slightly different, a little more refined — but honestly? I didn’t care. Because Levi owns my whole heart.

Chaotic. Toxic. Addictive. Five stars for emotional damage.

I read this story first then wanted to listen to it as i do normally love the narrators. I love the story as it is light grey romance, which is a bit of a reprive from the more darker romances, I love the relationship between Astrid and Levi, and the banter between them and the rest of the Elite football team is really great.
However the 'posh' english accents by both of the narrators really grated on me. I am from the UK and feel the narrators really need to work on their pronunciation in an English accent, I found it really jarring. Others may not find it as distracting, but i felt it really detracted from the story.

good story but the accents grate
