The story is interesting enough, but the narration is just awful. There's two readers, a male and a female. The male is barely acceptable but the female is dreadful. She sounds like a frail, very old lady, and she reads too quiet and softly. Who on Earth thought she was good enough to read for audio books?
If the story hadn't captured me I would have returned this book.

I enjoyed the story, the depth and detail and emotion that Noah and Erin bring to Orton's book was beautiful and I love listening them. I love Orton's writing too much and there are not enough star increments, A year ago I would have said" no I didn't cry in this one either, reading the reviews where people were crying from the start, I think my heart must have frozen over with the cold" but I got the emotional and cried and laughed and cried again, I got the feels and that is what I expect and get from Orton...and the snark ;)Time travel is always confusing but this had masterful,intricuit twists and minute,subtle turns that reveled themselves to be a litererry diamond in the sky.I thoughroughly enjoyed this book.I have issues with my eyes and on a day where I cant open my eyes this brought light in to my world and let me see through the eyes of three artists .What more can a girl ask for?I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.As always this is my honest opinion

the story was fine and the male voices good but the woman's voices volume was shocking. I also constantly listen audio books when driving but tue woman's voice was ridiculously low, so missed the majority of her lines especially at the end of sentences as all I could here was a slight hiss of parts of the words, so she will suddenly start off loud enough then after 3 to 4 words the go into a silent sort of whisper and I have good earing. I get she tries to put feelings into the words but it's pointless if they can't be heard. I thought it would get better when I put my earphones in but it was still as bad and I was constantly turning the volume up and down.

This was a good book and I liked it. For the most part, I liked the characters. It was heavily focused on romance, more so than I had expected. It follows three different times and the relationship between Isabel and Diego through time, break ups and a dystopian future. The writing itself was good and I think D. L. Orton is a very good author, especially if this is her debut novel.

However, the pacing of the book threw me a little and it was quite difficult to tell which time they were in when reading (or listening). Also the characters themselves could be quite annoying; for instance, Diego hits on Isabel literally seconds after meeting her after 15 years. Could at least say hello first?

Romance

This book is right up my street, time travel, and love across dimensions. A love story is at the center of the story. When something is threatening the end of the world as we know it. This has it all, and you really feel for Isobel and this only book one.
As the center of the story we have Diego and Isobel and their love story which drive the story. This is how good sci-fi and fantasy mesh together so well. This is an addictive adventure, that just would not leave my mind. I was mesmerised and I definitely can’t wait to listen to book two.
The narration is superb, taking me into another world for 11 hours, and only being upset when it finished too quickly for me.
