Brought to you by Penguin.

With the country in chaos and corruption on all sides, there's only one person to turn to.

When a series of military-style attacks erupt across the United States, Detective John Sampson is called in to investigate. The attacks are untraceable, with patterns too random to decipher, leaving Sampson struggling to find a link amongst the carnage.

As Sampson discovers a lead through an ex-military contact, his partner Alex Cross is brutally side-lined, leaving him certain about one thing: he can trust no one.

With soldiers called on secret assignments and others mysteriously disappearing, Sampson must revisit his military past if he's to save his country's future.

Very relevant to today. Well reenacted, gripping story.
In effect a thoughtful look at current affairs.

Very excited to download this new Alex Cross book but quickly into it, l I realised Alex wouldn’t be in it much. It was his mate Samson’s case this time which makes no sense as these books are supposed to follow Alex Cross and his cases. Not sure he was in it for more than 5 minutes at the start and about the same at the end! Story was just ok, a bit far fetched. Please bring Alex back in the next one!

Disappointing - where is Alex?

Book was okish- very little about Alex Cross though - wish I had know before I used my credit !

No Alex cross

This made a pleasant change to the usual Alex Cross thrillers, as it focused on John Sampson as the hero. Gripping throughout, we get to learn a lot more about Johns character and background.

A great John Sampson story
