About this listen

How do you keep the people you care about safe from enemies you can’t remember? Ten years ago, Nate Garrett awoke on a cold warehouse floor with no memory of his past and the only clues to his identity were a piece of paper with his name on it and a propensity toward magic. Now he’s a powerful sorcerer and a successful thief for hire, but it turns out that those who stole his memories aren’t done with him yet. When they cause a job to go bad, threatening a sixteen-year-old girl, Nate swears to protect her. But with his enemies closing in and the barrier holding back his memories beginning to crumble, Nate is forced to confront his forgotten life in the hope of stopping an enemy he can’t remember. Crimes Against Magic is a dark, fast-paced urban fantasy torn between modern-day London and fifteenth-century France.

I would recommend this book as a good listen. It was easy to follow the characters and the motivation behind them.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Holly as she seems to be an unsung hero who ends up losing her heart only to lose it.

What about James Langton’s performance did you like?

Depicted the characters well as if he assimulated the characters and voices

What did you like most about Crimes Against Magic?

I enjoyed the way the 15th Century story runs alongside the 21st century story. It really helps you understand why things are happening

Who was your favorite character and why?

It has to be Nat Garrett - he is the hero who else would I choose.

Any additional comments?

I like the way the book does not take itself too seriously. It is a little dark in places and has a good mix of sarcasm. I wouldn't say its funny at any point but it was a little light hearted not gloom and doom all the way. I may even buy the next book in the series.

Worth a Listen but not Exceptional

As an opener to a series/world this wasn't half bad. I liked the dual stories and the detail of how the world works, and how there are still mysteries about our hero's origin to be uncovered despite all the revelations. Worth investing in I feel.

Well read by narrator. I found myself fully emersed in the story. I already have all the ebooks and am now working my way through the audio books.

Love this Series

The story is brilliant. The reader though has a strange intonation that occasionally interferes. Not enough to spoil it though

Great story
