Summary

Charlie (a werewolf), Dorothy (a vampire), and Neil (a wizard) have a new flatmate. The bad news is, she's a human. The even worse news is, she's an investigative reporter. Susan Hall has just joined The Bugle, and is looking to make a name for herself.

All she needs is a big story....

Ruined by poor narration

Story was reasonably engaging BUT ruined by poor narration her voice was very flat and boring her 'voice's all sounded as if they had a speech impediment and were too similar for entertaining listening.

Dreadful Narration!

I bought four titles in this series and having got three quarters of the way through the first book, I’ve returned them all. So poor is the narrator, I have been compelled to write a review. Every character sounds witless, nasal, slow or all three! How on earth did the narrator ever get the job?! A book/series ruined for me.

Good book

I liked this book. It's still set in Washbridge but introduces a new character but still has mysteries in it. The flatmates struggle to not let spill that they are not human; with some interesting consequences.

The downside is the narrator. She speaks very slowly. At the beginning I had to check I had it on the right speed. It does get better after a few chapters though, and then for the final credits it goes back to slow again - so you can clearly see the difference.

Also, although a different narrator from the Witch PI books, why change the voice of a character completely. Dougal is unrecognisable and I think that's stupid.
