Overrated, uninteresting story

I'm very surprised that this book gets so many high star reviews. For me it was a waste of time and I regret since I bought it the waste of my monthly credit.
I searched for a thriller and this is NOT, it is not gripping story either.
Middle age mother of two children and a reputable GP on top of it goes on a drinking weekend to Ibiza! Where she sleeps with 17 years old boy. I am not prude but REALLY? I didn't care since the beginning about what would happened and really don't understand why would someone chose to wrote a story about this.
The whole book is about her 'mistake', cheating husband, twisted teenager and his twisted parents.
There is not a single character I cared about. Half way through the book I decided not to continue because I really wasn't interested what would happened.
I didn't care whether she goes to jail or when would 'the twist' finally happen. The whole story and everybody in it was twisted.

It's about justifying how much she was 'hammered' in Ibiza, her 'poor' family, her husband 'justifying his cheating', and her constant repeating 'I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING WRONG,' lots of F... words and unappealing characters.

The narration was good before t the story very poor.

damp squib

started out well, by halfway through I was bored. It was obvious how it was going to end. Disappointing.

Good gentle thriller

The story begins with our main protagonist, Alexandra, waking up in a hotel room with a bad hangover trying to figure out how she came to be there, and who is the man lying next to her. We soon learn that Alexandra is a medical doctor, married to Rob. She is in Ibiza as part of a girls' boozy weekend. The man next to her, Jonathan, is quite young, attractive, and one of Alex's patients from back home. Alex's career could now be at risk if this mistake became public knowledge.
The story before and after that event is told from several perspectives, the perspectives of course differ significantly, as we the audience are gripped wanting to know what is really going on, and who is the "bad guy" in all of this. We get lots of believable detail about family and professional relationships. For the most part of the book this is all pleasant and engaging listening, but fairly pedestrian as a story. All the action, the twists and turns come in the final hour, so don't give up on this book. The ending is worth the wait.
Like an early Lucy Dawson book that I listened to, Everything You Told Me, this is a relatively easy listen, doesn't take too much concentration for a thriller, and has good ending which wraps everything up without anything being left hanging. It's the kind of book I like anyway and I'll be listening to more by the same author.
Rachel Atkins, the narrator, did an excellent job. Her male voices especially, came across as very plausible.

Ok

This was ok, found it a bit slow. I did not immediately hunt for another novel by this author like I do for some.

Many twists and turns

Would make a great TV drama, a sordid compelling listen, no real hero's! Great narration
