Step into tomorrow's Joburg on a global scale

I loved listening to this collection.

Set in the futuristic, dystopian landscape of Johannesburg - thriving metropolis and melting pot of South Africa - JT Lawrence blends the new and sparkling advancements of the future she's imagined with the familiar, grounding elements that anchored me to the present day. In this world, the world of tomorrow, our deep-rooted problems are still very much in evidence. Infertility, chronic diseases, mental illness, undrinkable water - check. Fear of AI rebellion? Oh, yes.

Boredom factor? zilch. Suspense? 110%. Enjoyment? Absolute.

In short, this boxset is an amazing bargain. Start listening today!

One of the best trilogy's that read...

I'm finding it difficult to write a review for this unique trilogy. I initially read each book singlely and each book offers up different themes, yet each story follows the same players, and the same doomsday prophecy, but there are years between each story. In each book, Kate and Keke have grown, matured, changed, but their friendship has remained constant. I could tell you that "When Tomorrow Calls" is a near future, dystopian, cyberpunk thriller, that it takes place in Johannesburg, and that it's part of a new wave of great SF coming from Africa... I suppose could post my individual reviews of each book here (but, I won't)... What I will say is that it's one of the best trilogy's that I've read in some time...
The trilogy is really Kirsten's (aka Kate) story. She is a kickass protagonist, and she even has a secret power, well it seems like a power... she has synesthesia, and she'll use that and anything else that she can, to keep her family and friends safe! She has the instincts of a mother bear, along with an oddly colorful "power"!
... I then double dipped and had a second serving of this awesome trilogy. I couldn't help myself and grabbed and listened to the audio version of the set when it was released. And, I've got to say Roshina Ratnam does an amazing job. She makes JT Lawrence's words come alive, plus I just love her South African accent...
Sure, you can get these stories individually, but why would you do that when you can get this great deal? That'll save you the trouble and bother of looking for and buying each book individually... because I know you'll want to read them all !!!
Then make sure (if you haven't already) to pick up the prequels... As both The Sigma Surrogate and The Stepford Florist adds even more character to this already vivid imaging of Johannesburg...

Get your facts straight about Type 1 Diabetes

The story itself is pretty good BUT as a Mother of a Type 1 Diabetic I know a thing or two.
If you go into a “sugar shock “ what kind of word is this anyway?
If you have an hypoglycemic episode you DONT need Insulin because your blood sugar level is critical low and you need sugar to bring it up
Hyperglycemia is the correct word to use for high blood sugar levels
Then you need Insulin and if critical high a hospital to bring it down .
Both conditions are life threatening.
