Summary
When Glasgow journalist Shona McGilvery moves with her partner Mikey and their baby to an idyllic cottage in rural Scotland, they believe that all that lies ahead of them is happiness. One of the best books I've listened to
Great story! was guessing until the twist had been reviewed. It's beautifully written with great detail, and nods to literature. Definitely get this book!

This was quite a different story to any I have listened to before. Narrator was good with different accents.

Intriguing story
Good storyline based on 3 main characters in a love triangle..the lead character is so genuine that you want everything to work out well for her..
Enjoyed this audiobook very much..it’s entertaining, and well written and narrated.

Brilliant!
Superb narration. Ruth Urquhart didn’t miss a beat; skilfully switching from one accent to the next and always in character. Both S E Lynes and Ruth Urquhart are on my list of must reads.

Enjoyable, although a bit predictable.
Narration was brilliant. But I guessed the plot and outcome of the story quite early on, so spoiled the experience somewhat. That said, I did carry on listening, because it was well written.

It was okay as something playing in the background but the story was predictable and far fetched. It seems only the dim ,lead character, was taken in by it!

I wanted to like this but ...
Having previously read Mother by this author I was really looking forward to this and I really wanted to love it, but I didn't. The story was quite slow in places, and Part 2 was just Part 1 from a different persons perspective and the ending seemed rushed.
As for the characters, I didn't really like any of them! Shona was supposed to be a journalist but seemed to question nothing. Ok she was a new mum and sleep deprived, but still! Mikey was just horrible. Even when he was being nice there was always something dodgy in the background. Valentina was just irritating!
I listened to the audio version of this and at first I found the Scottish accent difficult to understand but as the book went on I got used to it. The narrator did a good job with the Scottish, Aussie and English accents.
